I Had a Late-Term Abortion. I Am Not a Monster.
I am a baby killer.
I stopped mid-step on my way into my office in Manhattan, and that thought scrolled through my brain yet again: I am a baby killer. It was an April day this year, nine weeks after I ended my childs life.
I decided to keep walking.
That is a choice I have to make every day: Give up or keep moving. I have been choosing the latter, over and over again.

(13,456 posts)These rabid anti-choice fanatics dont care about mothers and babies at all. I keep reading that so many of what they call late term abortions are a result of parents receiving a devastating medical diagnosis for either the fetus or mother. RW religion eliminates compassion.

I disagree with the writer of the opinion story; she is not a "baby killer". But that is my opinion. The alternative seems to be that the writer could have carried the foetus to term, delivered a humanoid baby with a barely there brain, and watched as the baby suffered and ultimately die. My opinion is that she made the right choice. She definitely experienced a loss. I know she won't read this but all I can say is I'm sorry.
