(12,344 posts)There's a generation of students not getting what they need out of academia. Petersen is speaking to those students and giving it to them. Some is common sense, some is way off base, but they don't have the tools to see through it and they don't have anything better to grab onto.
It's not the end of the left, but it is a challenge, particularly in education.

(12,344 posts)As a new type of right wing intellectual. We talks a lot about how identity politics is really Cultural Marxism and makes a lot of scary inferences from that. He got noticed when he opposed a law about hate speech in Canada, saying it force people to use people's preferred pronouns or go to jail (it doesn't say that). But it spoke to many people's anxiety about recent cultural changes, particularly the anxiety of young white males.

(1,033 posts)I could hardly take this seriously when the writer repeatedly uses that term in the article to refer to us and employs a rather condescending or scolding tone, much like a Fox News pundit would.
Rather than being impartial toward him, she seems to actually admire Jordan Peterson, and thinks we would all do well to follow his insidious guidance. And toward what goal?
