Former Attorney General Sally Yates Tweets a warning
http://verifiedpolitics.com/sally-yates-just-issued-chilling-warning-trump-rare-tweet/
By Colin Taylor “Deeply disturbed by the visible erosion of faith in the mainstream media and the refusal of a growing portion of the American people to accept empirical fact as an undeniable truth former Acting Attorney General turned Trump resistance hero Sally Yates to issue one of her rare tweets. ************************************** Sally Yates @SallyQYates We can’t let POTUS’s complete indifference to truth become ours. Constant barrage may be exhausting, but normalizing it is too dangerous. 9:37 AM · Oct 24, 2017 ************************************** The combination of the way that President Trump stumbles from petty feud to announcing yet another appalling policy with all the grace of a drunken lumberjack combined the with numbing resignation induced by a ravenous 24/7 infotainment media machine that barely stops to tut-tut the President’s impropriety before hungrily seizing on Trump’s latest barbs has indeed exhausted our reserves of outrage and fed a growing sense of normalizing resignation among many.“ As bone weary, disgusted and disheartened as I have become in this never ending citizens’ WAR we canNOT become resigned or beaten down. Beyond the ogre mentality and buffoon oafishness of the Cretin, is the hourly shredding of all that is decent and hopeful about America. Besides being a billious, walking billboard of the worst of twisted, pathologically lying, narcissistic humanity, he is being used by an infected party of soulless greed and hate as the cloddish frontman to the destruction of our nation. We Must continue to RESIST. I kick myself a dozen times daily to remain in the fight. I’m tired, I’m Not getting any younger, I’m ironically battling back a growing, personal form of intolerant abhorrence for his “people” who make it their life’s agenda to hate. But by all that is or isn’t holy to any of us...we cannot stop.

1. Every word!
He is wearing us down because he thrives in chaotic environments (before it was in his business life...now it is in all our lives). He creates chaos...he IS mentally ill. Even Jeb Bush said a few months ago when asked about the moron's fake presidency so far and he replied, "He is exhausting". Most rational citizens are experiencing signs of anxiety/depression. He is not healthy for our country and its citizens. Yates , Reich, Olbermann and others are trying to rally us like cheerleaders whose team is throwing in the towel. We must resist. If you need to take a well deserved break to rest up, get healthy, focus on life outside of politics then definitely do it. We need healthy, strong, focused resisters for the long haul.

11. Indeed. Jeb actually called it.
Remember how he predicted that trump would be “the Chaos President” if he was allowed to go all the way?
I’m stunned to realize that I’m actually agreeing with anything Bush. Including his dry drunk older brother (as of that latest speech dubya recently delivered). The world truly has turned upside down. |

15. My real problem with the Bushes is that they don't believe most of the stuff they run on
but have seemed perfectly willing to use wedge issues that don't reflect their personal beliefs to achieve power and influence.
I don't think they are personally racist, they seem to value education, and I don't believe that they are personally opposed to abortion. The older Bush even resigned from the NRA because of their heavy-handed mail campaigns. Yet, they are perfectly willing to subvert their rather moderate, old-time Republican values to use things like gay marriage, gun control, and abortion as wedge issues, they were willing to stoop to using the likes of Lee Atwater and Rove to run their campaigns, and they clearly had no scruples about disenfranchising voters in Florida to win. |

20. A hell of a lot better. Now, the Bushes sit or stand with
the Obamas or Clintons at events. They are much closer to the Dems than the Coup of RWNJs. I Was never a W fan, and he was more conservative than Papa. I won't forgive him for lies or idiocy to believe lies of his staff, which got us into Iraq. I suppose Colin Powell fell for it too. Of course, if the Repubs, yep, Karl Rove, hadn't cheated in 2000....

22. Yeah
when the Bush Crime Family are the good guys, you know you're in trouble.
I think the deal with the Bushes in general is that they are inculcated--socialized by the older generation of their clan--early on with the idea that the ends justify the means, and that some of the means are dirty, but it's A-OK in order to further enrich their family and maintain the dynasty. And, of course, inflict Republicanism on the country, because the social order should be rule by the aristocracy over the peasantry. The problem is that they have been successful in conning enough 'Muricans to go along with their nonsense, again and again. I hope we never see their corrupt asses in nationwide higher office, ever again. And, the problem they are having now with donnie is that he is the logical extension of their dogwhistle, race-baiting ruling strategy and his crassness is creating unrest among the peasantry. |

26. Indeed. And what does it say about the sad state of affairs we're all stuck in, now,
that many of us find ourselves looking back on bush1 and/or bush2 with some measure of fondness?
I was convinced that dubya would rank 44th on the list of 44 Presidents, dead last on a "who was the best President?" list. But then came trump. And now dubya isn't all the way down at the bottom of the heap anymore. trump is such a shit-show that he actually makes dubya look better. That's pretty doggone pathetic. |

32. I remember when I couldnt say the name Bush
Without gagging. I hated his agenda, I hated his party, I really hated his vile Vice President.
Almost child’s play in comparison now. I knew Dubya was a good husband and a good dad. That was his only saving grace. I felt he was catapulted into politics by his ol’ man and had no business being president. I thought at times he was as dumb as a box of hair and manipulated clownishly by the sneering evil Dick. The Republicans used him to further the capitalistic warmongering vermin hiding beneath every White House hedge. Obama saved us for a while. Gave us the audacity of hope. Healed much of the infected disease of the Bush years. Against great odds...we started to flourish with dignity and compassion and promise. Then the bastards returned with their army of Russians and The Stupid and old white Money Men Little did I know Bush could be elevated to a very odd spot of reluctant affection by the steaming scum Cretin who oozed his swarmy lying assed buffoon way into the White House. |

3. More than resist
I watching Henry Gate's show last night (Finding your Roots) and one of the people he had on was Ava DuVernay - director of Selma. They showed clips of Selma and Ava spoke about her stepfather being from the area around Selma. When again reminded of what people stood for then, said to my partner, we haven't done nearly enough with our marches, and speaking out, we really haven't done anything compared to what people did for civil rights. More than resist - we have to increase our involvement, speaking out, gathering, working to register voters and getting people to the polls. |

13. Yes, we have to do much more than what we are doing
And we need to redefine "resistance" as something more than posting our discontent, or even marching. (I count myself among the guilty and beaten, despite having marched and written.)
The following, titled "Victor Laszlo's Blog," is a wry humor piece from the New Yorker from a month or so ago--but although funny, its message is hard-hitting with respect to what passes for "resistance" these days. Read the whole thing, but I offer a few choice paragraphs: https://www.newyorker.com/magazine/2017/09/18/victor-laszlos-blog |

17. There are not many options left to us. Trump's cabinet
is who must enforce the 25th Amendment.j His self appointed members were appointed primarily because of loyalty to him.
This republican congress will not impeach him so what are we left with? Discontent is everywhere along with this sense of impending doom as we take chances this madman will launch nukes unimpeded. The majority of the nation do not trust him and want him gone. What is left for us? |

There's a lot of, "you just have to figure it out" on this issue. Well, I'm sorry to be so dense, but I have tried and I don't know WTF to do.
I have never been more frightened or disgusted with our country. I think we are in dire straits, but I am not a politician or an organizer. I don't have the resources to evaluate what actions might be best. Where is the leadership? |

28. There are some days when I am almost paralyzed by the
fear that no one in our Party has been able to stop this nightmare. I know and live your frustrations, too. Indeed...WTF!!
I’m no shrinking violet. I write, I have marched and bad knees willing I will march again, I sign petition after petition (does it even matter, really?) I post on several social media sites where I can possibly sway minds, I civilly debate face to face. But I am just one, essentially executively powerless citizen beyond my one vote. Yeah, it Scares the daylights out of me. I have to believe in the strength of my convictions. I have to at the very least throw that spirit of strength out there defiantly into the weird, whatever you want to call it aura of wordless rebellion. Fierce hope? The Force?? I can’t fold. We can’t. We won’t. |

33. I've done the same as you. I just found out there are 3 local chapters of Indivisible near me.
Went to their websites. All 3 have basically nothing posted since March. We need to be organized and united. I just don't see that happening.
We're all commiserating and pledging our resistance here and on other social media, and it's good to know we're not alone in seeing the madness, that isn't stopping Trump. Every tiny victory we've had has been steamrolled over (see EO killing the Obamacare we worked to save) and there are countless horrific things being done in all departments of our government that most don't even know about. And then you think of the average American who would also be pretty horrified if they understood all that the Trump admin is doing, but most people do not have the time or energy to keep up with even the most well-publicized stuff. Unless there is a massive, well-funded effort to sound the alarm so no sane citizen can ignore it, this nation is going to fall irretrievably to this fascist regime. I don't know if it was this thread or another where someone expressed similar feelings of hopelessness, and some accused them of being a RW troll. Holy fuck, I am one of the most liberal people I know and have been forever. I'm not looking to lower morale, I'm saying, it's not looking good. We are not winning. With all the disenfranchisement and election tampering, even if we get huge numbers of Dems to vote GOTV, we easily may lose again in 2018. If anyone can point me to some indication that I'm wrong, I'd be very happy to know about it. |

14. Yes. We do have an asset that they didn't have, thankfully---
The internet.
The Germans at that time had little to no access to real information nor to fellow fighters. From the very beginnings of the Nazi rise, they put much effort into propaganda in order to blind the people of Germany and later, Europe. And even the U.S. I'm thankful every day for this advantage we---and the World---have. |

16. Let's hope we get to keep it!
Ajit Pai, current head of the FCC, wishes to destroy 'net neutrality', essentially turning the internet into a 'walled garden' controlled by rich corporations and individuals. Unfortunately he probably will. BTW this will allow ISPs to 'manage' connections and routing. The point being that anything you send out is 'information' not 'communication'. That means that its not treated like a telephone. There will be no expectation of privacy or equality of access on the internet anymore.

The most important part of the text, in my opinion:
"We Must continue to RESIST. I kick myself a dozen times daily to remain in the fight. Sometimes I have to take a day or two off from the "news" created by that piece of crap, but I know I can't quit.
