When I knew him, he was a kind of eccentric, pipe-smoking old dude who had a very pessimistic outlook on life. But I liked him. He lived in Austin, and when I went to college there, I spent some time with him for totally selfish college-boy reasons.
My uncle, you see, was an engineer. His proudest accomplishment was helping to design I-70 through Colorado during the Eisenhower Administration, and he did help design a very beautiful highway, as those things go. He was also a good auto mechanic, and loved working on cars. He helped me keep my old Pontiac tuned to a tee. Changed the oil and stuff for free, too, just because he enjoyed the work. I got to know him some, but he always refused to tell me about his experiences during the war.
Except for one day. I brought over a bottle of his favorite whiskey in exchange for him giving my mechanical beastie a tune up. We drank it together. And he told me some stories. They blew my ass away, and I understood why he didn’t like to talk about them.

(83,645 posts)No LW site would allow Hillary to be called the C word. That was applauded by one of the admins there. That admin said it was Okay to call Hill the C word as long as members did not call EACH other that.
A member from DU was banned for doing just that here on DU.

Plus... looks like their own rules do not apply since You listed above "no sexism" and calling Hill the C word is sexist. Actually I see many of those rules you listed are not enforced...at JPR!

They are nationalist but lie to themselves and others by claiming they are "left." If they are left, then so is Breitbart because their views are identical. Like the Nazis in Virginia, they are angry about what they see as the decline of the white male middle and upper middle-class VI's a vs. other races. That white men average incomes only eight times that of AAs is not enough for them. They were furious a women dared to dared to run president, and they regularly used the most disgusting misogynist slurs to describe her.
Even now, Trump voters are welcome on the site, as are libertarians and Stein voters but defenses of Clinton or the Democratic Party are not tolerated. Anyone who shares their hatred for Democrats is welcome.
They have a picture of Heather Hayes on their site, someone who would be alive now if Clinton and the Dem party they so despise had not been defeated, with their full complicity and support.
They worked had to bring about what we are witnessing now. They put Trump in office and normalize his white supremacist support base. This is their America, and they own ever last death that results.

You have to admit her complete and sudden recovery was astounding - along with the fact that while her death was imminent, she still had the strength to murder Seth Rich and run a child sex ring. That's one amazing lady, no?
