review:

A very long, fascinating and complete article about a death that was called a suicide, and the events concerning that death that point to another possible reason: murder...The reporter has done an incredible job of investigating this event, its consequences, and the people who are involved. One key individual surrounding this event, is the sheriff who according to the story, did everything possible to protect the possible shooter, one of his deputes. The reporter looks at all aspects of the investigation and its ramifications. It is an ugly story about what appears to be cover up, and sheriff's attempts to destroy the state investigator's career and credibility. The state investigator is shown to be seeking the truth, whether it was suicide or murder.. The sheriff, appears to be someone who distorts the truth in many ways to protect his depute, who could have been the murderer. I recommend it strongly, but it is a complex ,sad and ugly story about lies, death, and efforts to destroy someone's credibility. (and that includes efforts to destroy the author's findings and his ability to get all information about this story)..It took a while to read it, but once I started, I felt that the writing involved me in such a way that I needed to know the results. An outstanding work of research and reporting and extremely inclusive of all aspects of this case. After reading this story, it appears that a murderer has gotten away..

1. This is a fine portrait of what it would be like if Trump were an elected sheriff

It is a perfect reflection of his attitudes, ethics and methods.

2. The family should pursue a civil case against the deputy sheriff.

There will probably never be a criminal indictment in this case. Those evil, backwards Floridians who covered-up this murder for their own selfish reasons won't allow that to happen. But, I hope for the family's sake that they pursue justice civilly.

I hate that these positions of Sheriff are political. Whatever happened to just serving the public with integrity?
