After calling attention to passages from Sen. Rand Pauls 2013 book Government Bullies that were lifted word-for-word from a Heritage Foundation study, BuzzFeed is at it again. This time, the site is highlighting portions of potential 2016 Republican presidential Dr. Ben Carsons 2012 book America the Beautiful: Rediscovering What Made This Nation Great.
One source left un-cited by Carson was a website called socialismsucks.net, which apparently went online in 2002, but is currently down. But a cached page on Archive.org on the history of socialism, contains a multi-paragraph passage, including the section below, that is repeated verbatim in Carsons book:
BuzzFeed also found passages lifted from The Five Thousand Year Leap by W. Cleon Skousen, a Liberty Institute press release from 2011, a CBS News article from 2010 and more.

Well, should Rand Paul be the GOP standard-bearer next year, I would think his choice of Veep to be obvious, with the slogan of the Paul-Carson ticket being, We the People of the United States, in Order to form a more perfect Union...

(60,536 posts)if any page and every page he ever wrote isn't now under review. There will either be more revelations of Carson's plagiarism or, some poor aide is about to be publicly spit roasted and blamed for the already discovered writings.

(23,973 posts)Q:If (Republicans Teabaggers Libertarians AnCaps you fill in the blank) despise government, why are they so desperate to get into a government position at any cost?
A: They hate government unless it hands out tax money to corporations and gives public money to their wealthy benefactors.

(3,908 posts)Practically all modern published texts have been digitized and indexed by search engines.
I think the real crime is in hiring substandard ghost writers who don't give a shit about plagiarism.

Of course, it was the death of Joe Biden's presidential ambitions back in 1988... IOKIYAR.

(3,286 posts)And since both parties appear to be at their beck and call it would seem that "the right to vote" is immaterial.
The important point is protecting "the lives of the people who live under its jurisdiction." Corporations don't want to do that so they marginalize the most vulnerable. Giving them a vote in a fixed game just puffs up the illusion of "...individual liberty and freedom of choice...".
The placebo society. The illusion of democracy is all that's necessary.
