San Jose: SJPD mandates two-man patrol units for New Year's Eve in response to national police thre

Source: Mercury News

SAN JOSE -- The San Jose Police Department is making the unprecedented move of mandating two-person units for every patrol shift on New Year's Eve in response to national threats against police, authorities said.

None of the threats were specifically made about San Jose police, but rather against broader law-enforcement. Nevertheless, the department is taking maximum precautions.

"As a result of recent threats against law enforcement officers nationwide, the San Jose Police Department has made the decision to have officers patrol the City of San Jose on New Year's Eve with two officers per patrol car for every shift," reads an SJPD statement released Wednesday morning.

Police agencies across the country are on heightened alert after non-specific threats made on social media and other avenues, foreshadowing that Wednesday night would be "Kill a Pig Night" and "The New Year's Eve Massacre."

The irony is that they are responding to the murders in NY of a two-person patrol which was of no help to being ambushed.

If I had to hazard a guess, it's RW militia groups like what was at the Bundy Ranch.
Bundy Ranch? Every time I hear that, I think of this guy:

That cops start realizing that too many guns around is not a good thing and start lobbing against the NRA.

You might have a point if gun violence in general, and violence against police in specific, was directly related to the number of guns in circulation. But they are not.
