Obama intervenes to avert SEPTA rail strike

President Obama on Friday created a three-member board to mediate the long-running labor dispute between SEPTA and its Regional Rail locomotive engineers.

The creation of the presidential emergency board, which was requested by SEPTA this week, will avert a strike by engineers that could have started on Monday.
