Federal judge says Ohio can execute killer
By Alan Johnson
The Columbus DispatchWednesday April 4, 2012 12:08 PM

A federal judge has apparently cleared the way for Ohio to resume executions.

U.S. District Judge Gregory L. Frost today denied a request to stop the scheduled April 18 execution of convicted killer Mark Wiles of Portage County. Wiles was sentenced to death for killing 15-year-old Mark Klima of Rootstown, Ohio, on Aug. 7, 1985.

Frost had refused to allow executions to proceed in recent months because of legal complaints that Ohio prison officials had not followed their own lethal-injection protocol.

However, Frost said today that Ohio must now “avoid the embarrassments” of the past. He said he based his ruling in large part of the testimony of prisons chief Gary Mohr.

Ohio execution can proceed; judge concludes state ready to follow injection rules
By Associated Press, Updated: Wednesday, April 4, 11:18 AM

COLUMBUS, Ohio — Ohio’s first execution in six months can proceed, a federal judge ruled Wednesday, saying it appears the state is serious about following its own lethal injection procedures.

The decision by U.S. District Judge Gregory Frost ends an unofficial moratorium dating to November, when members of the Ohio execution team deviated from the official injection procedures when putting a Cleveland man to death.

he stabbed to death a 15 year old boy as he was stealing from his house a house
that was owned by the boy's parents who had written a letter getting him out of prison
and they gave him a job too. Wiles has lived almost 27 years on death row which is
12 years longer than his victim lived his whole life. The victim was a straight A student
who wanted to be a doctor.
