Source: Entertainment Weekly
Cops crew member Bryce Dion died Aug. 26. He was killed by gunfire while filming the police responding to an armed robbery in Omaha, Nebraska. To remember Dion, Spike TV will air a one-hour special featuring the sound mixers work, Deadline reports.
Dion is the first crew member to die while filming Cops, a show thats been on the air since 1989. We are deeply saddened and shocked by this tragedy and our main concern is helping the family in any way we can, Langley Productions, the company behind Cops, said in a statement after Dions death. Bryce Dion was a long term member of the Cops team and a very talented and dedicated person.
The special episode airs Saturday at 8 p.m. ET on Spike TV.

(6,045 posts)Started treating fire fighters at least as good as we do the OCCUPYING FORCE that terrorize our streets on a daily basis!!
Where are all the TV shows dedicated to firefighters being the HEROES that are larger than life?
I hate this guy was killed but if they were not out trying to glamorize COPS & make them look like something they clearly are not then he would be alive today.
America needs to end this fake hero worship & demand our streets back from the military that occupies them right now.
I apologize to those who I "offend" but I will no longer be showing any sympathy at all toward law enforcement until they start protecting & serving the public & stop acting like an occupying force!
The Iraqis had no sympathy for our soldiers, nor should they, I can't see much of a difference here.

Roxy Galloway knows the terror of Tuesday nights shootings firsthand. She is the Wendys employee the robber confronted with the gun.
The young woman had just come back from maternity leave.
She is still confused about what she saw and heard and told us, It just felt surreal. It almost felt like I was watching a TV show. It didn't feel like I was actually experiencing it."
She paints a picture going beyond the crime scene tape and flashing lights.
There's a chance that I couldn't have come home to my family or my daughter, knowing that my one-month-old daughter could have been mom-less."

Roxy Galloway, an employee at Wendys, remembers the smoke and the sounds the most.
She said she had been preparing to lock the lobby when Washington came in with his nose and mouth covered by a bandanna. She thought he was joking, until he pulled out a gun and pointed it at her, telling her to put all the money from the drive-thru and the front registers in the bag. It was while she was taking money from the front register that police came in and saw the gun pointed at her, she said.
There was a bunch of yelling. I heard the bang. (Washington) was about a foot away from me when it started, Galloway, 21, said. It was really loud. It sounded like a real gun. I couldnt even tell the difference between officers guns and his gun.
It was pretty much a hostage situation. The gun was pointed at me.

Is there a memorial program to tell us who they were?
...thought not.
I have no time for big dramatic ceremonies for a select few Americans...every one should be remembered.

Who needs a coliseum?
As they enjoy the view of selected citizens getting bitten, shoved around, bloodied, knocked down, voyeurs household members are able to wonder how the heck do police gentlemen and ladies behave when there are no camera and sound people around to watch them.
Your idea is so appropriate. They should bury the show along with their last "courageous" production member.

Despite police abuses, for obvious reasons we can't just disband all police forces.
It would be anarchy.
