US Prepared To Broker Gaza Ceasefire, Says Obama

The US is prepared to broker a ceasefire between Israel and Palestinian militants in Gaza, President Barack Obama has said.

His comments came during a phone conversation with Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu.

Mr Netanyahu earlier said Israel's operation was progressing as planned and "more stages were expected".

"The United States remains prepared to facilitate a cessation of hostilities, including a return to the November 2012 ceasefire agreement," Mr Obama told Mr Netanyahu.

he says he does not and it seems as we're told here 91% of Israel's are in favor of the current air campaign, the number shrinks to 47% when it come to putting boots and Israeli bodies on the ground in Gaza though * I've been told that the poll was taken from a very small sample 500 people and from 'selected' areas so it may well be biased to the right
