Erdogan accuses France of Algeria genocide amind new diplomatic tensions

Turkish Prime Minister Tayyip Recep Erdogan accused France of genocide in Algeria in the 1940s and 50s, in his latest response to a French parliament vote to make it a crime to deny that the mass killings of Armenians in Ottoman Turkey was genocide.

Erdogan also said President Nicolas Sarkozy's father might have direct knowledge about French "massacres" in Algeria.

"In Algeria from 1945, an estimated 15 percent of the population was massacred by the French. This is a genocide," Erdogan said on live television.

"If the French President Mr Sarkozy doesn't know about this genocide he should go and ask his father, Paul Sarkozy.

So it is not tit-for-tat? Calling out each other on their genocidal history! Lets see how the world deals with this. Shut it up or air out the sordid history of genocides committed by the world powers and attempt to address them for good?

France has been dicking around with Africa for a very, very long time. It lacks moral standing to say anything about this topic

1. Keep Turkey away from European integration while reaffirming the "christian roots of Europe"
2. Win the Armenian vote in the next elections

Maybe their tit for tat will get justice for all those Armenians Turkey murdered in cold blood . . .

But it also shows how they (Turkey) remain ignorant . . . they could have reached back to like - oh - say yesterday to see what was going on in Central Africa Republic. j'accuse France!

By the way - I love how effective the Bush/Cheney/Rove Cabal was at getting so many Americans to hate them (the French). All of these years later after Chirac told us a truth - a truth where he invoked the word Algeria to tell us precisely how things would go in Iraq . . . Even people who agreed with the French - hold them in contempt.

Funny - I met a new group of French friend in Southern France in May 2007 (there during the change over from Chirac to Sarkozy) and I told them not ALL Americans thinks so low of you . . . Some of us were honored by your Presidents words when Bush decided to engage in genocide against the people of Iraq over something that didn't exist . . .

And that's it in a nutshell. While many Americans laugh in glee at Turkey and France . . . No remorse for our participation on the horrific genocide of North America's indigenous Human Beings - or the cold blooded murder of AT LEAST 100k Iraqi Human Beings in the name of the Red, White, and Blue. Shame on us. We aren't exactly angels and probably need to just shut up. We are just a shameful freaking disgrace.

The restaured monarchy and then the 4th Republic.

From 1830 to 1847, Charles the Xth army killed around 500,000 people in Algeria, and during the war of independence, from 1945 to 1962.
