Appeals court won’t rehear BP settlement issue

Source: AP

NEW ORLEANS — A federal appeals court has refused to reconsider its March ruling that businesses don’t have to prove they were directly harmed by BP’s 2010 Gulf Of Mexico oil spill to collect settlement payments.

BP had asked the full 5th Circuit Court of Appeals in New Orleans to rehear the case. A three-judge panel, voting 2-1, had issued the ruling.

The court said Monday that five active judges voted for a rehearing. Eight voted against it.

The court’s action preserves a December ruling by U.S. District Judge Carl Barbier.

Probably criminally corrupt and should be replaced somehow. BP should be banned from US business forever. They literally ruined one of biggest, most productive places on earth. They are criminals.

they trot out. BP loves the agreement, trust me. They just stalled payments for 8 months on this one appeal! So many victims that lost their livelihoods and never got a dime. They are forced to see BP's propaganda and the Plaintiff's Steering Committee (PSC) will not respond. They get up to $600,000,000.00 if the Class Action goes through, courtesy of BP's generosity they call "The Common Benefit Fund."
