Obama To Move Ahead With Arming Syrian Rebels

Source: CNN

UPDATED 11:39 AM CDT Jul 23, 2013

WASHINGTON (CNN) —Reluctant approval from Congress for providing military support to Syrian rebels allows the Obama administration to move forward with plans first announced almost six weeks ago.

White House spokesman Jay Carney told reporters on Tuesday that the goal of the military aid expected to include small arms, ammunition and perhaps anti-tank weapons is to keep the Syrian opposition going against forces aligned with President Bashar al-Assad's regime.

Noting al-Assad's forces have been helped by Hezbollah in Lebanon as well as Iran, Carney said Syrian rebels need the help of the United States and allied nations to withstand an increased assault.

"The aid is intended to help the opposition resist Assad and eventually prevail," Carney said, adding that any resolution of Syria's civil war will require a political transition.

The US has its own problems...but I guess the way to actually avoid dealing with them is to keep supporting wars across the face of the planet!

Assholes. Anything to make a buck for the military providers, they don't care what happens afterward. Well, they do care, they would love for this to create even more opportunities to increase the military machine. What they don't care about is all the people that will die as a result of this awful decision or the cost of this to the American people.

"The goal of the military aid...is to keep the Syrian opposition going..."

It is not Obama's place to decide who runs Syria.

WTF are we thinking? We have extra money? Is our military stock pile so high we have to give it away so more Middle-easterners can kill each other and accomplish NOTHING? WTF is wrong with us??

Can we just keep the hell out of other country's business halfway around the world? What is to be accomplished by this, except more bloodshed? Will we stop the civil war? Will we save any lives? Will we, in ANY WAY, accomplish anything positive by throwing money and weapons into a bon fire?

What the fook is wrong with this country?? Don't we get it? It's NONE OF OUR GOD DAMNED BUSINESS!! If we could save lives with it, put an end to the war and the killing, anything?...then it's a big maybe. But again, WE ARE BROKE, we don't need to pump up our military complex to dump their surplus on peasants fighting each other on the other side of the planet, and WE WILL CREATE MORE HATRED toward this country for meddling in THEIR AFFAIRS!!

Hole sweet Jesus, just what the fook is wrong with us!!
