Good morning, Freepers and DUers alike. It is time once again for the weekly unemployment insurance initial claims report.

Here for your viewing pleasure are this week's data, brought to you as a nonpartisan public service. This is just one example of the good work your civil servants are performing for you.

That word "initial" is important. The report does not count all claims, just the new ones filed this week.

Wow, another big decrease.

to file for.

There is a cap on how much unemployment you can use. Even if you get another job, it takes a good long time to earn back the unemployment benefits you used.

I am surprised.

You are right. There simply are no jobs to be filled. The rate will go down as benefits run out. The published rate is a Hoax. The correct measure would be the unemployable rate. You are unemployable if you have no job and there is not one out there to get. If the Government had not shipped our jobs to China we would be begging for immigrants to come here and work.

When 10% (at least) unemployment, and another 10% underemployment, is "full employment", we're a 3rd world country. All of this cheering is due to the brainwashing from Big media.

Before I get jumped, let me say that any news that will get Obama re-elected is OK by me, but this is in no way a sign of economic health for the US
