NE Senator Mike Johanns Announces He Will Not See Re-Election

Nebraska US Senator Mike Johanns announced Monday that he will not be seeking re-election to the US Senate when his term expires.
Johanns has been in public service since the early 80's. Johanns served on the Lancaster County Board before being elected the Mayor of Lincoln in 1991. He was elected Nebraska's 38th Governor in 1998 and was re-elected in 2002.
From there he was confirmed as Secretary of Agriculture but resigned in 2007 to run for the US Senate seat vacated by Chuck Hagel.
