BAGHDAD (AP) -- Car bombs tore through shopping areas within minutes of each other in mainly Shiite neighborhoods of the Iraqi capital on Sunday, killing at least 37 people and wounding more than 100.

The attacks come amid rising sectarian discord in Iraq and appear aimed at shaking Iraqis' confidence in the Shiite-led government. The explosions struck at the start of the local work week and primarily targeted outdoor markets.

Violence in Iraq has fallen since the height of sectarian fighting in 2006 and 2007, but insurgents still frequently launch lethal attacks against security forces and civilians. It was the third time this month that attacks have claimed more than 20 lives in a single day.

It worked.....! We brought peace and prosperity to that country.

Well...no... but whatever you call it, it was certainly worth the deaths of 4408 Americans and a few hundred thousand Iraqis.

Right...?

You could think of our invasion as a weapon of mass destruction.

Another reason for not interfering in other countries.

Everyone know that we are still in Iraq, protecting "Our Interests" there, correct?

Hey,
Yet it continues, the legacy of the worst president ever. Do the Iraqis have more electricity and more clean water than they did before the ruling criminal class invaded?

The usual disclaimer, no the dictator that the U.S. supported for decades was not a great guy.

Peace

It is a good thing that we went into that country, killed between 100,000 and 1,000,000 Iraqis, lost roughly 5,000 dead American Soldiers, and spent the best part of $1 trillion. The Iraqi people are certainly better off now than they were with Sadam
