Republican Congressman Dan Burton of Indiana says he won’t seek re-election to 16th term

INDIANAPOLIS — Republican Rep. Dan Burton of Indiana says he won’t seek re-election to a 16th term.

Burton told members of the Indiana House on Tuesday that he’ll serve out his term but not run again. The 73-year-old didn’t elaborate on his decision during his brief address to lawmakers.

Burton narrowly survived tough GOP primary battles in his past two campaigns. He was elected to his 15th term in November 2010.

The reason that guy needs to go is because he is an asshole, not because he's old.

I should have included, "Give the guy a break!" or "Let him bow out!" and I would hide the tongue within my cheek.

I mean, whatever it takes.

I'm past retirement age myself.

He shot up a watermelon to show that Vince Foster was NOT a suicide

He also wasted tons of public time and money calling meetings about any and all wild newspaper stories (all discredited - many immediately) during the Clinton years.

His terms were a complete waste of real time.

You insulted our President, Bill Clinton, and tried to take him down when you had your own newt-style hypocrisy issues going on.

And you're still an asshole!
