Poll Shows A Dismal Approval Rating For Bobby Jindal

Source: TPM

Louisiana Gov. Bobby Jindal (R) has emerged as a national voice for the Republican Party, but a poll released Wednesday suggested that his star has severely diminished at home.

According to findings from Democratic-leaning Public Policy Polling, a mere 37 percent of Louisiana voters approve of the job Jindal is doing compared with a majority of 57 percent who disapprove. When PPP last conducted a survey in Louisiana in 2010, 58 percent of voters said they approved of Jindal's job performance while only 34 percent disapproved.

Jindal has found himself in the spotlight in recent months. In January, he announced his proposal to abolish the state income tax in Louisiana. Jindal also made headlines for a speech he gave to an audience of Republicans last month in which he said the GOP must avoid becoming the "party of austerity."

The PollTracker Average shows that Jindal has maintained high popularity for much of his time in office.

1. I think Fla. Gov. Rick Scott (RatCon) has a dismal rating too.

Other governor AR's:

Brown (CA) 50 pct in January (up from 48 in Dec)
Dayton (MN) 53 in September
Hickenlooper (CO) 60 pct in September
Kitzhaber (OR) 50 pct in December (was 55 in September but 45 in November)
Quinn (IL) 26 pct in Oct (gee...the Chicago politics scarlet letter?)

Daniels (IN) 63 pct in April
Kasich (OH) 42 pct approval by end of the year but 43 pct oppose re election vs 36 yes
McDonnell (VA) 53 pct in November
Perry (TX) 62 pct against his re-election, in poll from last month
Scott (FL) 36 pct in Dec
Snyder (MI) 36 pct this month
Walker (WI) 49 percent end of October down from 51 mid month

2. What exactly did Jindal expect when he threatened to cut HOSPICE from Medicaid in LA?

For a politician to think that is acceptable anywhere is SUBHUMAN.

I am not sure in all reasonableness what type of approval rating a subhuman governor deserves, but I will take a wild guess -- less than zero.

And I didn't even mention his other failings....
