Jan Brewer, Obama Face Off Over Book, Immigration Issues
MESA, Ariz. -- Arizona Gov. Jan Brewer says President Barack Obama complained to her about how she depicted him in her book.
It happened when Obama landed in Air Force One Wednesday at Phoenix-Mesa Gateway Airport, where Brewer met him on the tarmac.
According to a White House official, Brewer handed Obama a letter and said she was inviting him to meet with her. Obama said he'd be glad to even though Brewer inaccurately described their last meeting in her book, "Scorpions for Breakfast."
The last time Obama met with Brewer was June 2010, when the Arizona governor visited the Oval Office for a private, 30-minute encounter the White House called a "good meeting." At the time, Brewer said the meeting was "very cordial," but in her book she said Obama had been "condescending."

snip: During Wednesday's encounter, Brewer handed Obama a handwritten letter asking him to sit down with her to discuss the "Arizona comeback."
"I thought we probably would've talked about the things that were important to him and important to me, helping one another," Brewer said of a potential meeting with the president. "Our country is upside down. Arizona was upside down. But we have turned it around. I know again that he loves this country and I love this country." snip

Barack Obama graduated from Columbia, then Harvard Law, and taught @ the University

President Obama in public about what she thinks needs to be done in the Federal Government?

(237 posts)She was Secretary of State and after Janet Naplitano went to Washington she became governor. (No Lt. Governor here.) She was behind in the polls when she had to run, but she signed the dreaded SB1070 and sailed back into office.
Perhaps the President said something she didn't like, but I'm sure he wasn't rude to her. As far as I'm concerned, a picture's worth a thousand words and seeing "my" governor with her finger in the President's face? Embarassing.

She's got a lot of nerve waving that claw in his face. Can you imagine if a female Democrat ever pulled this with GWB? It would have been a one way ticket to Gitmo for her!

(7,675 posts)In fact you would be racist for saying that is a racist comment.
Race pimp is what you are. Race baiter for questioning anybody's
right to comment on the color of the President's lips or the width
of the First Lady's hips.
We have a first amendment right to call the PResident a ghetto
pimp and a Halfrican. Hell Freepers have even claimed that Sacha and
Malia will end up being hookers when the reach puberty.
Nothing racist in that. Just expressing my first amendment rights.
America is reliving Selma Alabama in 1965. There are a lot of people
in America that want to turn the clock back to the 1950s or better
the 1850s.

(7,402 posts)In follow up comments this morning Gov. Brewer showed what she really meant. She is like so many other Republicans that view Obama as being upitty and needs to be put back in his place so she was more than willing to do her part.

(549 posts)Personally I think the Republicans are too stupid to understand that everything they do is on record. Second, somehow this "Lady" would expect The President to show her respect, yet she would act Un-Lady Like.
If you ever want anyone to take you seriously, you probably shouldn't be shaking your finger in their face.

(94 posts)Being from neighboring states: Arizona is the retirement area of the midwest, like Florida to the east. They're a conservative lot but the one thing they have, whatever their party, is manners, especially someones manners that effect upon them & the state they now call home.
Especially in light of...
One of the neighboring states is Nevada where I'm sure the odds of her getting re-elected have changed dramatically...
To rest nutcase!
