Erdogan says Turkey might enter Israel to help Palestinians
Source: Reuters
President Tayyip Erdogan said on Sunday that Turkey might enter Israel as it had done in the past in Libya and Nagorno-Karabakh, though he did not spell out what sort of intervention he was suggesting.
Erdogan, who has been a fierce critic of Israel's offensive in Gaza, started discussing that war during a speech praising his country's defence industry.
"We must be very strong so that Israel can't do these ridiculous things to Palestine. Just like we entered Karabakh, just like we entered Libya, we might do similar to them," Erdogan told a meeting of his ruling AK Party in his hometown of Rize.
"There is no reason why we cannot do this ... We must be strong so that we can take these steps," Erdogan added in the televised address.

(6,885 posts)President Erdogan was boosting some rhetoric to help his regime. There is a huge difference between Libya/Karabakh and Israel. Israel actually has functioning government, fully armed military. If Turkey actually attacked Israel, Erdogan would quickly regret that mistake.
Now if President Erdogan wants to be a part of a multi-national peace keeping mission in Gaza, I would fully support that.

Turkey does not have any nuclear plants. There is one scheduled to open in October 2024, but is for power producing purposes only. It is being constructed for peaceful purposes.

Same thing for the BBC that wrote a headline about Israel bombing Lebanon because a "soccer field was hit". It wasn't some empty soccer field, but a kids match being played by Druze children, where a dozen were killed and dozens more were badly injured.
The hate a bias against Israel by these news organizations is overt.
Erdogan is desperate to distract people from his terrible mismanagement of the economy. This is why he's rattling his saber like this. He doesn't mean it though. It's just a political stunt.

(9,257 posts). . . since Israel got to the victims of the 2/23 earthquake to aid the victims before the Turkish aid got there. He lost a lot of face in that one. (or so I was told by a Turkish friend).
