Sept. 18, 2023, 11:58 AM EDT / Updated Sept. 18, 2023, 2:13 PM EDT Former President Donald Trump on Sunday night shared a post on his Truth Social platform that accused "liberal Jews" of voting to "destroy" America and Israel. “Just a quick reminder for liberal Jews who voted to destroy America & Israel because you believed in false narratives!" said the post, which came on the weekend of Rosh Hashanah, the Jewish New Year. "Let’s hope you learned from your mistake & make better choices moving forward!” The post touted Trump's decision to relocate the U.S. embassy in Israel from Tel Aviv to Jerusalem, among other moves. It is unclear what prompted his post. The Trump campaign did not immediately respond to NBC News' request for comment. Prominent Jewish advocacy groups, including the American Israel Public Affairs Committee and J Street, also did not immediately respond to a request for comment. Michelle Terris, the founder of JEXIT, an organization that says its mission is to "educate and encourage" Jewish Americans to exit the Democratic Party, confirmed to NBC News that Trump's post came from a JEXIT flyer posted Sunday on Instagram. Terris said it was her organization’s understanding that Trump shared the post to his Truth Social account after a meeting with board member Siggy Flicker last weekend. She also clarified that the flyer from the organization was originally posted in 2018 and has been used for years. I sub to them and hadn't got chance to scan their latest articles. 45's comments were a gut punch although not surprising. I.e., it was only a matter of time before it happened, but when it does, it confirms that this is just the beginning.

Just a friendly callout from the (alternate) leader of the free world (in a different reality.)
"Come on youse guys, I know how easily led you are. How about letting me lead you instead? Some of my closest relatives are Jewish, so what could go wrong? Just vote for me, you won't regret it, honestly!" If I was a soft at the centre American Jewish type person, I'd certainly be swayed by his eloquence! 
Looking for votes in all the wrong places using all the wrong words. Like my post heading, nothing new here. Just Trump doing his Trump bit. Trump gets my 'triple D' award. Deluded, devious and dangerous. Maybe chuck 'desperate' in there as well. |
