Source: USA Today
The Democratic National Committee and President Joe Biden's 2020 campaign will return political donations tied to Silicon Valley Bank in the aftermath of the bank's collapse, the DNC told USA TODAY on Friday. Biden's presidential campaign and PACs received at least $11,900 from SVB executives, according to records from the Federal Election Commission. Silicon Valley Bank managing director Gerald Brady donated $5,600 to Biden for President in 2020, according to FEC records. Claire Lee, the former brand ambassador and head of startup banking who took over one of Brady's roles running a division of Silicon Valley Bank, gave $6,300 to the Biden Victory Fund. 5. This is pretty standard for majority of politicians to give back the money to
Entities that are out of popularity among the country. Happens all the time.

6. And how many times do Republicans do it ???
No instance comes to mind, just off the top of my head....
It seems to me it is always the Democrats who practice unilateral disarmament.... Yeah, we are better than they are, but the rewards seem few. Anyway, these are 3 year old contributions, received in good faith... I don't see any necessity to give them back, but yeah, it is pocket change, and possibly good public relations for a public that mostly ignores our virtues... ![]() |

8. How people can't see how much better we are than Repugs is way beyond me.
Better in all ways, more honest and always having the average american's interest at heart. Always working on issues that polls show are the biggest concerns of middle Americans and introducing bills that address those that almost always blocked in some way by guess who? The party that caters almost exclusively to corporations and the uber wealthy and has done exactly zip for their constituents that voted them into office.

9. Pocket change, peanuts, chicken feed.
Remember, these bank execs tremely wealthy people. I'm sure they didn't even miss that amount of money. Giving it back is definitely the right thing to do.
I wonder how much money SVB execs gave Trump. However much it was, we can rest assured that he won't part with one red cent unless there's blackmail involved. ![]() |
