Justice Department seeks Tesla automated driving documents
Source: CBS News
FREMONT -- The U.S. Justice Department has requested documents from Tesla related to its Autopilot and "Full Self-Driving" features, according to a regulatory filing. "To our knowledge no government agency in any ongoing investigation has concluded that any wrongdoing occurred," Tesla said in the filing Tuesday with the Securities and Exchange Commission... NHTSA has noted in documents that numerous Tesla crashes have occurred in which drivers had their hands on the wheel but still weren't paying attention. The agency has said that Autopilot is being used in areas where its capabilities are limited and that many drivers aren't taking action to avoid crashes despite warnings from the vehicle. In addition, the National Transportation Safety Board determined in 2020 that Tesla's system to make sure drivers are paying attention is not adequate, and it should be limited to areas where it can safely operate. 1. WHO'S DRIVING THIS CAR?
Are they telling us drivers are confused? They think Tesla self-driving is in control so they don't have to do much or anything? Or is self-driving overriding the human driver?
Confusion about who's driving is a formula for crashes. |

2. There is not a single person in the world that has given their consent
to be a BETA test subject so this company can perfect their "self-driving" cars and make the despicable Musk even more money.
Not one. NHTSA and the NTSB have failed to do their job -anyone near a Tesla on the roads is in potential danger. Avoid these cars at all costs. This is a million times worse than anything that happened with a Ford Pinto. |

3. More Tesla FUD
One has to acknowledge the software is Beta, and then manually enable the Autopilot features to use them.

4. Not FUD
Does "One" ever think about other people? Other human beings walking to work or driving somewhere or riding a bike? Kids crossing the street? People who have not acknowledged that the software is Beta and have not manually enabled anything. People who have NOT given their consent to be a guinea pig for a car company and its slick CEO who's busy wrecking another company. That the public isn't even discussed by fans of this nonsense is troubling. Sooner or later someone important will be hurt and they will have the legal power to cause real headaches for Tesla and hopefully force the Government to never allow untested "BETA" software on the roads again. |
