Poll: 78% of Santos' voters want him to resign
Source: nbc
That number includes 71% of Republicans in his district. Jan. 31, 2023, 8:24 AM CST By Ben Kamisar The vast majority of voters in a new poll of embattled New York Republican Rep. George Santos' district want the congressman to resign amid the litany of scandals and revelations he misled voters about his biography. Seventy-eight percent of voters in the state's 3rd Congressional district want Santos' resignation (including 89% of Democrats, 72% of independents/others and 71% of Republicans), compared to just 13% who do not want him to step down, according to the latest Newsday/Siena College poll. Santos is viewed unfavorably by 83% of the voters in the district, according to the poll, a view again shared by the majority of people across partisan stripes (just 7% view him favorably). ................................... Sixty-three percent of Santos voters say they wouldn't have voted for him if they knew what they know now, while 31% say they still would have voted for him. “NY 3 voters overwhelmingly and unambiguously say Rep. Santos should resign. .......................... ..................... 3. He won't resign unless he's facing forcible removal
What is he going to do if he resigns? He won't have any job or means of support. At least now he has a 6 figure salary with benefits for the next two years.
The fun part is he will be a poster boy for everything that's wrong with the GQP and there's not much they can do about it. |

5. he'll apparently have to be prosecuted for that to happen.
republicans have no ethics no morals no sense of right and wrong. i'm surprised he recused himself from his committee assignments- and wonder whether that was him doing the right thing or the republicans threatening him if he didn't - but i mean they put him on the committees!
my head hurts. i hate republicans |

16. you're right.
trace it all the way back to nixon and i STILL say that if he had faced the consequences, been prosecuted for his crimes as any other citizen would be, we wouldn't be here.
we really kinda lost the "a nation of laws and not men" part a long long time ago. now we're a nation of trump and idiocy. losing our democracy. |

8. Why should he resign? He can do nothing for two years and collect good pay.
I doubt he'll run for reelection.

21. If he can, I'll be amazed. I think his fifteen minutes are done.
Even his entertainment value is fading. He's so low, I doubt if Fox would hire him.

then they're pretty good - especially if the outgoing congressman, Suozzi, runs for the seat.
