Herschel Walker, the Republican nominee for U.S. Senate in Georgia, on Monday denied a claim that he paid for a girlfriends abortion in 2009, saying in a televised interview on Fox News Channel that the account published in the Daily Beast is a flat-out lie.
Walkers denial came after the Daily Beast published a detailed description from an unnamed former girlfriend who said that Walker encouraged her to have an abortion after she became pregnant while they were dating, wrote her a $700 check to pay for the procedure and then sent her a subsequent get well card.
When asked by Fox Newss Sean Hannity about the reported $700 check, Walker, who has voiced opposition to abortion rights, said he frequently gives money to others. I send money to a lot of people, Walker said. I believe in being generous.

(19,051 posts)For most of them, it's not about an unborn child at all, it's about controlling women and punishing them for what they view as amoral behavior (sex). For others, they're anti choice except when it comes to their own lives and their families. And for the bulk of Republican politicians, it's just a wedge issue they take advantage of.
I went to Catholic School for 12 years, the "pro life" movement was huge at my school. I knew people in high school who had abortions and were out protesting at the clinics soon after.
Walker couldn't care less about this issue morally, he's just taking the position that all GOPers have to take.

They seem to be more elusive than big foot, louche ness monster and the still alive Elvis all combined. Besides, witches know magic and can disappear in a puff of smoke? We may never find them.

I saw a t-shirt the other day, that said--"If liars pants really did catch on fire, the news would be much more interesting."

(728 posts)Herschel Walker. First he had one kid, then he suddenly had three more kids that he forgot about. Now we learn he paid for an abortion (with receipts) for one of his dalliances. How many abortions did "pro-life" Herschel pay for and forget about?
