Nebraska State Patrol investigating 'multiple fatalities' in Laurel

Source: Lincoln Journal Star

Authorities are investigating multiple fatalities in the small northeast Nebraska town of Laurel, where the Nebraska State Patrol said "multiple scenes" are involved. Multiple witnesses told News Channel Nebraska that they saw or heard an explosion at approximately 3 a.m. Thursday near 3rd and Elm streets, where a heavy law enforcement presence remains evident, according to the news outlet.

Officials with hazmat suits were observed walking toward the scene on Thursday morning. Thomas told the Associated Press that fire was "involved" in at least two locations in the community of fewer than 1,000 people located about 40 miles west of Sioux City, Iowa.

7. Yeah, me too. Remember that incident up NE somewhere, where crews went in and hit several families

in a compound type area and it ended up being a grow operation. Former employees (I think) murdered the families over money.

Also here, a couple converted their home into a grow operation and they were hit at harvest time.

Two things come to mind - you pays your money you takes your chances and somebody somewhere is offended that "permission" or the vig was not even offered before trying to sell the product.

Be careful with your purchases, pay in cash with $1, $5 or $10s - can't be traced.

HBO Doc series "Anarchy" or really AcaAnarchy" thing happening down in Acapulco that two US guys started selling in Acapulco, cartel in area heard and "took care of their problem." Now, that GQP libertarians have moved down there, they are shocked - Shocked! - that the local law will not help them with the murders and now they are stuck in Acapulco where there are so many murders, the morgue is absolutely overwhelmed with bodies and they just kinda throw your body in the hallway and if you pay enough they'll do an autopsy - $25,000 was quoted at one time - but the bodies in the hallways are so degraded you cannot be identified, even by tattoo's.

Sometimes you really do get what you pay and pray for.

Oh yeah, most of the AcaAnarchy (if not not term specifically, it's extremely close) have put their funds into crypto, guess what? They are broke and cannot move. The one's who noticed the freaks moving in and didn't invest in crypto have fled to other parts of Mexican Pacific Coast/Baja areas to settle in, which doesn't have the cartel problem at this time.

8. It's a pudgy white guy who lived across the street from one of the houses

Two of the people were a couple in their 80s, found with a man in his 50s, same surname. A woman down the street was the fourth victim. I guess the perp is burned pretty badly, he was airlifted to a burn unit.

Personally, whatever started this mess and he's the perp and not collateral damage, I can't think of any punishment worse than having to survive extensive burns. There is a limit to how much morphine or fentanyl you can give, and it's never enough for dressing changes.

4. 4 dead at 2 different crime scenes 3 blocks apart in Laurel, authorities say

update at same OP source (we're now over 12 hours after the incident)

Four people were killed in two separate fires early Thursday morning in the small northeast Nebraska town of Laurel, and foul play is suspected, according to the Nebraska State Patrol.

At a news conference Thursday afternoon in the Cedar County town, Col. John Bolduc, superintendent of the state patrol, said authorities responded to an explosion at a home at 209 Elm St. at 3 a.m., where they found one person dead.

While crews were working to put out the fire, a second fire at a home at 503 Elm St. was reported. Three people were found dead at that location.
...
Bolduc said witnesses saw a "silver sedan driven by a black male" leaving the town of Laurel, headed westbound on U.S. 20. Investigators discovered evidence of accelerants at the scenes and believe the suspect or suspects could have been burned in the incidents.
