I don't have a strong opinion myself, because I haven't really delved into the fact of the case. I certainly don't think it's a ridiculous idea, though. Far from it, actually.

All I know is that I saw posts right here at DU expressing suspicion about him committing suicide as soon as the news broke. That seemed to be a very common sentiment here, at least at that time. As a result, I was surprised to see it being dismissed as a "RW conspiracy theory."

If you want to argue the question of how Epstein died, you'll have to find someone else to do that with. As I said before, I really don't have an opinion about that.

Opinions don't mean facts. People in situations like that do kill themselves often.
There are a lot of people who think the WTC was "bombed" too. And on & on.

As soon as the news of Epstein's death broke, lots of people right here at DU were saying it was murder, not suicide. I mean, immediately.

As I said in another reply, I don't have a strong opinion about it, but I don't think it's a farfetched idea at all.

So, yes. Right-wing conspiracy theory.

Not the first time DU has drank the kool-aid. And given how many are still sipping on this one, I certainly doubt it'll be the last RW conspiracy theory that DU embraces.

Epstein was involved with both Democrats and Republicans.

I was not aware of that. But even knowing it's a popular theory with the RW, I still don’t think it's exclusively a RW thing.

I also don't think ALL the posts I read at DU right after the man died were the result of people drinking RW kookaid. The reaction was too instantaneous for that.

As I've said multiple times now, I never did have a strong opinion on how he died. The only point I was ever trying to make is that the belief he was murdered is NOT the exclusive property of the RW. If I haven't made that point by now, I never will, so I am done here!

People "know" there is a vast undisclosed conspiracy of pedophiles simply because they "know" it. It is not based on the actual victims' testimony, but is simply based on the fact that Epstein glommed onto a lot of wealthy and powerful people and that, by association, they all were involved somehow.

People "know" about this conspiracy the same way they knew about the Satanic network of child care centers in the 1980's, or the same way that Qanon'ers "know" about trafficked children held hostage under a pizza parlor.

What's nice about this one is the CTers can work both sides since Epstein was bi-partisan in his parasitic relationships.

Lawyers for Ghislaine Maxwell say her cellmate in prison has claimed on several occasions to have been offered money to kill the 60-year-old Jeffrey Epstein accomplice.

Her attorneys made the claim in a court filing Wednesday, in which they called for leniency after she was convicted of sex trafficking and helping pedophile financier Jeffrey Epstein abuse teenage girls.

‘One of the female inmates in Ms Maxwell’s housing unit told at least three other inmates that she had ben offered money to murder Ms Maxwell and that she planned to strangle her in her sleep,’ the court filing read.

The inmate claimed the payment had been worth ‘an additional 20 years’ incarceration.’
