Australia election: Anthony Albanese signals climate policy change

Source: BBC

Australia's new leader has vowed to take the country in a new direction, with a big shift in climate policy.

Anthony Albanese, who won Saturday's election with the opposition centre-left Labor Party, said Australia could become a renewable energy superpower.

He is to be sworn in as PM on Monday, but it is not clear whether his party will have a majority in parliament.

Climate change was a key concern for voters, after three years of record-breaking bushfire and flood events.

they could have multitudes of solar and wind farms.

We just have to keep coddling the super-rich because they pay politicians (most always republicans) from the local level on up to maintain their personal status quo. They're so special, don'tcha know!

From those who thought the no-longer-in-power Liberal party was entitled to rule forever, with the full approval of the Biggest Deity they can think of.
After all, the no-longer-prime-minister said so, waving his arms about in church, trying to speak in tongues.

Bleating too from the political commentators who thought the same.
Dire warnings from them, we will all be ruined, things were going so well, now it's all for naught, they cry in unison.

One thing is for sure. No longer steady as she goes, no more she will be right mate, no more apathy reigning supreme!

Honeymoon period for the new part coming up. Hopefully, fully invigorated and mindful of the pre-election promises Labor made.

Fingers crossed!
