Nasty US election campaign tactics emerge
CURT ANDERSON

With a week to go until the US votes for its president, the nasty campaign tactics are coming out.

People in Florida, Virginia and Indiana have gotten calls falsely telling them they can vote early by phone and don't need to go to a polling place. In suburban Broward County, Florida, a handful of elderly voters who requested absentee ballots say they were visited by unknown people claiming to be authorised to collect the ballots.

And there's a mysterious DVD popping up in mailboxes that purports to be a documentary raising questions about the true identity of President Barack Obama's father.

It's one more indication of just how close this presidential election is. Voting rights advocates say reports of political deception and underhandedness are on the rise.

is if he steals it. I only hope that the result overwhelms their dirty tricks.

phone, which is the first I have first of this kind of thing by Democrats in many years (unless it's all a head fake). But a lot of these technqiques were perfected by southern Democrats prior to the Civil Rights Act and only adopted by Republicans with Nixon's southern strategy.

on both sides. The "bad Democrat PR" is worth more to them and will win them more votes than they are losing with the calls.

I would NEVER put it past them. They are slimy b*stards. We should be tracing these calls if at all possible to the person on the other end of the line.

the forensic techniques now available would enable law enforcement to track down at least some of them.

That's the False Flag part. One of Rove's earliest tricks was to trash his own candidate's HQ and blame it on the other side. By the time the truth came out, his guy had been elected.

They always accuse the Dems of doing what they are already doing. All crooks think everyone's a crook too. Trying to enforce the both sides are bad meme.

It's a piece of RW garbage titled something like 'Dreams of my REAL father' and was sent in volume to voters in Florida (at least). The usual "Obama is a Kenyan Marxist Socialist Fascist whose real father was Malcom X or Reverend Sharpton or whatever". Weak pap for weak minds.

The best way to stop these ugly tactics is just to ignore them like I do. Also Fox News needs to be taken off the air as they have nothing good to say or report.

These people need to be smacked down hard, as it is a crime
to fuck with election outcomes by misinformation and/or intimidation.

These crimes need to be enforced, pronto.

oh wait, I guess the DoJ is too busy investigating, prosecuting, and
imprisoning perfectly decent and honest people who happen to be
participating in their lawful state medical marijuana voter-approved
program.

never mind.

The first allows the Republican dirty tricks to proceed unchecked.

The second is impossible. Who is gonna take Fox off the air?

So indeed let us remove our attention from Republican criminal ativities an refocus on a Quixotic attack on Fox.

Sounds like a plan to me.

to rip off corporations, they'd have every LEA in the country hunting down these people. But since it's just election integrity we're talking about . . . no big deal.

A means of voting consistent among the 50 states - WITH A PAPER TRAIL.
There is absolutely no reason we should even have to even consider having to deal with manipulation of our right to vote the way the REPUGS are doing this year.
This is making me blind with rage.
