Tester says he'll vote against Biden vaccine rule for large employers
Source: Montana Public Radio
Montanas senior U.S. Senator plans to join Republicans this week in an expected vote to nullify the Biden Administration's vaccine rule for large employers.
Democrat Jon Tester says he opposes the COVID vaccine mandate for private businesses with more than 100 employees. In a statement released Tuesday, Tester described the mandate as a "burdensome regulation."
He says Montanans tell him mandates hurt their bottom lines and the states overall economy.
Despite his opposition to mandates, he urged Montanans to get vaccinated as soon as possible.

(23,219 posts)Hes not. Hes trying to keep his senate seat in a state thats imploding at the moment. Further, we have a brand new congressional seat up for grabs in 2022 since our state population just tipped over 1 million people the front runner for that seat is Ryan the crook Zinke and OH MY GOD we need to keep Jon Testers senate seat. Hes a goddamn farmer organic farmer to boot. Hes not a senator to get rich.

(1,384 posts)..when he ran for the Senate in 2020. Bullock argued against Dark Money in the Supreme Court. He was a two term governor. Amazingly progressive Democrat for Montana. 2020 awakened something truly ugly in Montana. He lost to Steve Daines. Tester is way better than Joe Manchin. Old, white republicans are dying like flies. Weve moved up to #20 in deaths per million. A couple of more waves of Covid-19 and we could have a shot in the House seats in the mid terms. Seriously, I really dont agree with his position on his, but the Dems need to hold on to Senate seats.

Fucking own what you believe, pro-Democrat and pro-DOJ. Let's make it hurt. Or not, if you a Trump Republican. Good luck.

(1,384 posts)For a second time, please do some research about Montana. The documentary "Dark Money" would be a place to start. Tester is my Senator. I watch all of his votes, not just this one. Im a full tilt progressive. I was/am a Warren supporter. I believe that Senator Sanders qualifies as a Democrat. But I proudly voted for Joe Biden. Im not strategically stupid. Tester votes correctly 96% of the time. Our other Senator, never. Im also in the entertainment business. Im sooooo sick of Covid and anti science BS. Testers staff will get an earful tomorrow, dont worry. Please watch that movie and study the 2020 Republican wave in Montana. Take a walk on the wild side.

(4,845 posts)And a nationwide mandate is the right thing to do but it will be tied up in court and get on the bad side of too many people. Leave the mandate on the state or company level.
Have we ever had a nationwide mandate on vaccines?
I would much rather go with the higher premium for unvaccinated or unvaccinated people pay their own hospital bill kind of thing.

(7,772 posts)He's our Senator but I cannot figure this out. Must be someone with the big mining money got to him? I'm calling his office tomorrow and there are gonna be some burnt ears when I'm done. My Dad helped get him elected in this county on his first run, along with a number of other Dems who got together and organized it. This is pure Bull about the "burden" and "bottom line". It has neither effect and Tester knows that, and so does his staff.
