French president says anyone over 65 must have booster shot to keep health pass
Source: Washington Post
France is still reporting relatively few new cases per capita, but it has seen hospitalizations and new infections increase in recent days.
The country has for months required that people show a health pass to sit at cafes, eat at restaurants, board long-distance trains and access many other venues. That pass can be obtained after a full vaccination cycle or after recovery from covid-19. Unvaccinated people can temporarily receive the pass following a negative coronavirus test.
Its introduction prompted a surge in bookings for vaccination appointments earlier this summer. France now has one of the continents highest vaccination rates, but its booster shot campaign has been off to a slow start.

My wife and I went to a center last Saturday, November 6th, over in Wuppertal--difficult to get to, more difficult to get out of--that did booster shots without appointments, and had Moderna vaccine.
We had our docs for the first two shots with us, and the first thing they asked was, "how long has it been since your second shot? It has to be six months, or we can't do it." We said we got our second shots in May. They looked at our documents, and said, "but that was on the tenth of May. Today is the sixth of November. We won't give you the booster for the next four days. You can come back on the tenth." I explained that some of us (me, for example) work for a living, and can't just toss our work aside to run over to Wuppertal. Moderna is not widely available here in Europe. But they remained steadfast. Rules are rules, and the Germans LOVE their rules. No booster shots for you until Wednesday. Well, today is Wednesday, and I am at work--in Holland. I have to run back to Madrid before the end of the week, and we had other stuff planned for Saturday. I guess we'll have to cancel and try to get our shots on Saturday, hoping that they don't think of some OTHER reason to refuse us (these ARE bureaucrats, after all--they can't even get jobs in Europe unless they can say "NO! in their sleep without prompting).
