(2,006 posts)it is free to use their service. Im sure their TOS explains data usage but nobody reads that contract. All internet sites use logarithms to pump advertisers towards users that may be interested in their products. Its been that way since the 90's. I had a website that got several thousand hits a day in the late 90's. I made about a hundred bucks a month from advertisers via click throughs. Yes FB is a bastardization of the concept but it is how it works, always been how it worked. I dont like it, actually I despise it. However I have a hard time when it comes to government regulation of FB, when it comes to what I believe is government overreach into FB's business model. FB isnt big tobacco, it's not Ford selling Pinto gas bomb cars. Its free. If the government intervenes into a free service I get afraid that government will be able to intervene in any and all aspects of individual privacy, profit driven or not. This is a new and very scary arena in my opinion.

(6,908 posts)Ignore the news, thats what they want you to hear.
And if they want you to hear something, its because they want your moneythe same way they got it from advertisers next to morons sharing articles about their cult of political worshippers.
Funny how the obnoxious and loud moral religious people are worshippers of power and not their God.

(4,456 posts)who know better, keep making excuses for using FB, they will prevail. FB literally has the power to topple governments, and I routinely read people defending their use of the instrument of our destruction.
