Army Kicks Out Hitler Mustache-Wearing Solider Who Allegedly Breached Capitol, Says Report
Source: Daily Beast
A far-right fanatic who liked to wear a Hitler mustache has reportedly been kicked out of the U.S. Army after officials learned about his alleged breach of the U.S. Capitol during the pro-Trump riot on Jan. 6. Timothy Hale-Cusanelli, 31, was an Army sergeant who worked part-time as a human-resources as a civilian contractor at a naval base in New Jersey up until May of this year. However, according to The Washington Post, hes since been demoted and given an other-than-honorable discharge, bringing an end to his military career. Hale-Cusanelli has pleaded not guilty to federal charges of illegally entering the Capitol and harassing police officers during the Capitol riot. Following his arrest, Hale-Cusanellis colleagues told Navy investigators that he held extreme racist views and likes to wear Hitler mustache at work. One sailor alleged that Hale-Cusanelli once said that, if he were a Nazi, he would kill all the Jews and eat them for breakfast, lunch, and dinner, and he wouldnt need to season them because the salt from their tears would make it flavorful enough. His lawyer didnt comment on the claims.

(27,501 posts)An Army reservist charged with storming the US Capitol was a well-known White supremacist and Nazi sympathizer at the Navy base where he worked as a contractor, and was even rebuked for sporting a distinctive "Hitler mustache," prosecutors said in new court filings.
Hale-Cusanelli, 30, was charged with seven criminal counts, including obstructing congressional proceedings, civil disorder and disorderly conduct in the Capitol. He hasn't yet entered a plea.
His defense attorney declined to comment Sunday about the new details of the Navy's probe, but has noted in court filings that Hale-Cusanelli maintains that he isn't a White supremacist.

If he is not a white supremacist, then I guess I don't know what one is.

(53,833 posts)See if you can follow their "logic". Since the Nazis believed in the superiority of the Aryan race, which included groups like Iranians, then it wasn't a "totally white" movement. Furthermore, they recognized the "superiority" of the Chinese mind, to which they aspired; therefore, it wasn't about "white" supremacy, and, add to that, they were willing to "allow" others to live among them, or even better, live among themselves, removed from their sphere, and using that "logic" it meant they weren't "supremacists."
Get all of that?!
If you think I am shooting in the dark, I am not. I have read about this for years, and more recently encountered this "logic" in a variety of chatrooms and the like. Therefore, in their minds, they can sympathize with the neo-Nazi movement (a supposed enlightened version of the original (NO! I am not kidding! They believe that!)) and not be a "white supremacist". The neo-Nazis, in their minds, is about white "pride", not superiority.

And how many enlisted military people are working also for military contractors?

(15,192 posts)That may explain why he could be working as a civilian contractor.
I am more concerned with how in the fuck he got a secret security clearance.
I know that a lot of the Security Clearance investigations has been turned over to private contractors, but the Office of Personnel Management is, I think, still responsible for final approval.
That this guy was able to get a clearance is a sign that the process is broken
