Biden says Russia spreading misinformation ahead of 2022 elections

Source: MSN/The Hill

President Biden said Tuesday that he has been briefed on Russian efforts to spread misinformation related to the 2022 midterm elections.

"Look what Russia is already doing already about the 2022 elections and misinformation," Biden said during the speech at the Office of Director of National Intelligence, referencing information he said was contained in his President's Daily Brief, or PDB. "It's a pure violation of our sovereignty."

During his remarks Tuesday, Biden reflected on the evolving and growing threats in the cyber realm. The president revealed that he believes that if the U.S. becomes involved in a war in the future, it will have been triggered by a cyberattack.

"We've seen how cyberthreats including ransomware attacks increasingly are able to cause damage and destruction in the real world," Biden said. "I can't guarantee this, and you're as informed as I am, but I think it's more likely we're going to end up, if we end up in a war, a real shooting war with a major power, it's going to be as a consequence of a cyber breach of great consequence."

It is great that Biden is calling out this threat, rather than trying to minimize it as Trump repeatedly did. You have China engaging in rampant espionage and Russia kicking it up a notch with brazen acts of sabotage.

We all saw what happened when a Russian hacking group attacked gas pipeline operations, which caused wide spread fuel shortages. You can only imagine what would happen with a more coordinated attack that is designed to cripple the U.S.

Why are JDs taking $$ donations & $$ support from RU & RW linked Democratic adversaries?

Foreign, Dark Money, & for what favors are they donating?

We have a right to question who those campaigning to represent our American Democracy are really representing, when we see receipts like these.
Considering the foreign dark money spent to influence the policies of Trump & the damage done over the past 4 years, WE HAVE EVERY RIGHT & A DUTY TO QUESTION.

Have we become so weak that we can't make a tin-pot dictator uncomfortable? We can not afford to let Putin into our politics again, whatever it takes. Where is Mr. Phelps when we need him?

Report them when you see them. On Twitter, on YouTube (spam or misleading), everywhere you look. Tell them they're full of it.

The internet was designed to be very robust... It'll route itself around breaks.

Not impossible to sever Russia from us, but it's not like there is only one big cable to cut.

And even if we did isolate Russia from us, they probably have agents in other countries that could attack us...
