Roger Ailes Signs New Four-Year Contract

Source: Huffington Post

Fox News CEO Roger Ailes has signed a new four-year contract to remain the head of the network, the Daily Beast's Howard Kurtz tweeted on Friday.

Ailes will run Fox Business Network, Fox television stations and 20th Century TV as well. Rumors that he was close to signing a new deal were first reported by New York's Gabriel Sherman in September.

The 72-year-old has reigned supreme at Fox News since the network's inception, making it one of the most profitable and influential wings of News Corp.'s media empire. In recent years, he has tangled with Glenn Beck and Sarah Palin, tried his best to influence Republican presidential politics and claimed to be making a "course correction" with the network. He also signed most of his top anchors, such as Bill O'Reilly, Shep Smith, Greta Van Susteren and Sean Hannity, to new contracts.

The terms of the deal aren't clear, though Sherman reported that Ailes was asking Rupert Murdoch for a raise from his current $21 million salary.

The lack of Republican morals or ethics, however, is not debatable at all.

What a crew.

Fox which is as a news less as you can get. It's truly the GOP enabler.

The really ugly side of what they call news.

.... could produce "news" as he is doing today. The man cares not one wit about the truth
but he cares deeply about pushing a right wing agenda on America.

@ 72 he has a 50 / 50 chance of making it to the end of his contract. Alies' work
helped to produce death threats against a friend of mine ...... he is not a good American
by anyway you look at it.

you make! Propaganda pays well! It's only due to our corruption in D.C. that these freakin slime get the privledge of using our public airwaves! The Networks have swallowed up all of the small media fish, and in return, were swallowed up by giant multinational corporations like GE who has a large variety of business interests that all benefit from owning a Network. They need to be broken up like Ma Bell, and made to separate news from entertainment. They used to do this on their own in the days of Walter Cronkite. Also they need to be separate from the ad dept.

If not I think we can be confident he will expire before his contract. If you are what you eat then Ailes must eat a lot of shit. It makes perfect sense, since he is a piece of shit!!! He must be proud for helping destroy democracy in America but he will not succeed in the end.
