EU pledges backing to Ukraine after Russian military buildup
Source: The Guardian
The European Union has pledged its unwavering support for Ukraines government amid concerns of a military escalation in the east of the country or a possible new offensive against the Nato ally after recent Russian troop movements.
Ukraine has accused Russia of massing thousands of military personnel on its northern and eastern borders as well as on the Crimean peninsula annexed by Moscow in 2014. Online researchers have identified troops being transferred to Ukraines borders from western and central Russia, including artillery from as far away as Siberia.
On Monday, the EU foreign policy chief, Josep Borrell, said he was following with severe concern the Russian military activity surrounding Ukraine. After a phone call with the Ukrainian foreign minister, Dmytro Kuleba, he also pledged unwavering EU support for Ukraines sovereignty and territorial integrity.

Didn't the Pope make some speech about what a crime it would be to have a war in the middle of a pandemic? Something like that? I don't follow the Pope, btw, and he isn't popular with me for his stance on gay rights. But, what has he heard that we haven't?
It was horrible that Russia annexed Crimea (or, "the" Crimea.) Got away with it, though, so is he planning to nibble away, again? We can't let this happen.
Plus, don't forget that he is doing something aggressive in the Artic, and also that he is cozying up to China. Is he in the staging part of a campaign?
It is good that the EU has spoken up. We know that Biden had or is going to have a conversation with the Ukranian guy. That'll be two major leaders who are coming forward.
I agree that he has forgotten that Trump is gone. Trump would have sat on his Orange Ass and watched from the sideline. Biden will not.
