Fox News Plummets Among Trump Voters as 'Most Trusted Source of News': Poll
Source: Newsweek
Viewer trust in Fox News has plummeted among supporters of former President Donald Trump since he lost the 2020 election to President Joe Biden, according to a new poll. In the latest USA Today/Suffolk Poll, released Sunday, just 34 percent of Trump voters listed the Fox News as their "most trusted source of news"—a 24 percent drop from the 58 percent that favored the network in October 2016. Two news outlets have increased in prominence among conservatives in recent months. Newsmax is now seen as the most trusted source of news among 17 percent of Trump supporters and One American News Network (OAN) among 9 percent. Newsweek reached out to Fox News for comment. Gotta head on over to OANN for the lies they really want.

They wanted legitimacy within the political world of Washington, but there audience believes Trump is still President. Now what? Follow the audience or the marketing plan?

3. QNews coming next?
Fox News mixes actual news with slanted coverage and biased pundits.
But it appears that Trump supporters only want to consume information that agrees with their view of reality, no matter how distorted or simply untrue. What a business opportunity for a ruthless entrepreneur-- all conspiracies all the time. |

But, I did stop laughing, as did all sane Americans, on January 6. QAnon - Pretty far out there and not funny by any means. Traitors all. This is the DU member formerly known as PatrickforO.

It's on Dish Network (which I just dropped after the packaged doubled in price within 3-4 years). I'm not sure which packages have it and which don't, but some do. Not sure about oann. Then there's the beck one, blaze. I have no idea if it still exists, but it used to be available as an add-on ($5/month, I think).

34% - Fox
17% - Newsmax 9% - OAN. That's 60%. Do they other 40% not know where they get their news? Not trust anyone? Everyone is used to a certain % in every survey that can't manage a defined answer, but 40%? |

16. Fox News will have to stop bragging about ratings...
For years they bragged they beat CNN and MSNBC when those 2 networks split the sane viewers so the comparison was ridiculous because Fox had no competitors. Now Fox News has to split its audience with other right wing networks. Now lets see the ratings going forward of CNN vs MSNBC vs Fox News.

22. Not just dumbed down - cult, paranoid, conspiratorial: 73% of OAN/Newsmax think 1/6 was antifa-led
Today’s data shows Fox News is losing the most loyal Trump voters. On the issue of whether Trump voters believe Joe Biden was legitimately elected, 73% said Biden was not. Among Trumpers trusting OANN, the number was 90% and among Newsmax Trumpers it was 92% saying Biden was “illegitimately elected.”
In a similar trend, 58% of Trump voters said that the storming of the Capitol on Jan. 6 was an antifa-inspired attack that only involved a few Trump supporters. Among Fox News viewers it was 59%, but notably less than the 73% who watch OANN and Newsmax. The recent Senate impeachment trial had a doubling down effect for 64% of Newsmax viewers who said the trial made them more supportive of Trump. Among OANN, 49% were more supportive, followed by 41% of Fox viewers. Trump’s loyalty carries into the 2024 presidential election as well, with 62% of Trumpers trusting Fox News, saying that they would like to see Trump run for president in four years. But that high number was less than the 70% and 73% respectively among those who trust Newsmax and OANN. Those who trust either OANN (66%) and Newsmax (64%) the most say history will record Trump as a great president. For Fox News, the number is high (45%) but not quite showing the love of these up-and-coming alternatives. Then we come to the true test of party loyalty – or should I say disloyalty – when comparing Trump with the Republican Party. We put Trump supporters on the spot and asked to whom they were more loyal. In the survey, 54% said they are more loyal to Trump while 34% chose the Republican Party. Among Fox News Trumpers, the numbers were a slightly more modest 51%-37% split in favor of Trump. But among Newsmax viewers 72% chose Trump over the GOP and among OANN, the Trump loyalty tipped to 80%-15%. https://eu.usatoday.com/story/news/politics/2021/02/21/paleologos-poll-newsmax-and-oann-out-foxing-fox/4533848001/ Asked to describe what happened during the assault on the Capitol, 58% of Trump voters call it "mostly an antifa-inspired attack that only involved a few Trump supporters." That's more than double the 28% who call it "a rally of Trump supporters, some of whom attacked the Capitol." Four percent call it "an attempted coup inspired by President Trump."

29. They fed an addiction to their propaganda for decades and now the addicts want a stronger dose!
It is a mistake to focus on dumbed-down as the essential measure. It misses the point that propaganda is designed to use whatever fears and doubts an audience has to undermine their grasp of reality and motivate them to act against their best interests through amplifying their feelings of anxiety. It may be intended and edited for a sophisticated audience or a simple one.
From day one FOX was always a propaganda machine for the GOP Right Wing. OAN and Newsmax are the evolution of that propaganda machine. Just the same as Sinclair Broadcasting has superseded Clear Channel as the captive media pipeline for the RW Message, bought, financed, and directed by Koch, Mercer and other hidden Dark Money players (oil, gas, mining, tobacco, pharmaceutical and firearm industries to name a few). |
