The Supreme Court on Monday denied President Trump's request to fast-track consideration of several lawsuits challenging the election results in Pennsylvania and Wisconsin and rebuffed similar suits brought by pro-Trump attorneys.
The court announced its decision in an unsigned order that did not disclose the justices' voting breakdown or rationale, which is how the Supreme Court typically handles denials of such requests.
The move all but guarantees the justices will not take up the cases prior to President-elect Joe Bidens inauguration on Jan. 20, and represents a final nail in the coffin in Trumps voluminous and failed post-election legal effort.
The Supreme Courts order comes several days after a riot at the Capitol that temporarily disrupted lawmakers from finalizing President Trump's electoral loss and has since been linked to five deaths.
