Inhofe: "I've never seen Mike Pence as angry as he was today"
Source: Tulsa World
...
Ive known Mike Pence forever, Inhofe said Tuesday night. Ive never seen Pence as angry as he was today.
I had a long conversation with him, said Inhofe. He said, After all the things Ive done for (Trump).
Aside from Wednesdays attempted takeover of the Capitol, the past few days have been difficult for Inhofe because he refused to go along with protesting the Electoral College results.
Weve had calls. Weve had threats.
I have many very, very close friends mad at me, when all Im doing is upholding my oath, Inhofe said

(33,643 posts)Not making excuses for him, but he HAS groveled at IQ45's feet for 4 years, supported and defended him at every possible turn.
He HAS to have felt emasculated as these 4 years have gone along.
I'd bet he thought the one thing he could count on was that Tangeranus would have his back when the chips were down, as he always did for shithead. Clearly he has minimal experience with sociopaths like Needy Amin.
Instead, Trump sicced his goons on the building he was in FFS, and called him coward in a tweet, and implied HE is the reason Trump is losing his job. He's literally put Pence's life in danger, and not just today either.
Anyways, he HAS to be fucking pissed.

(3,622 posts)Anyone who claims ignorance that this was going to happen is lying. What no one could have imagined is that there seems to have been some complicity to allow it to happen. The National Guard should have been there on the 5th, the goons should have never been allowed to take, not even one step into the Capitol, they should have been kept behind the barriers.
I am convinced there was complicity there, someone decided to do trump's dirty deed and I hope the truth comes out. It is unacceptable what happened yesterday, but it did not happen without the help of someone, and at this time I think the chief of the capitol police must be investigated, and whomever was warned four days before by Maxine Waters, and others.
Pence may be angry because the buffoon has thrown him under the bus a few times, but I don't think it is because of what happened yesterday, I believe his actions from yesterday are an attempt to redeem himself from the adoration and enabling he has been performing the past four years. Every time I saw him look at the buffoon with adoring eyes my stomach turned, he has shown a lack of dignity and principles just like many other republicans. No, I don't give him a pass.

Add one more sucker to the pile of people totally conned by Don. But if Pence is making what happened all about him and his hurt feels...
Never mind about the millions of people affected (and infected) by Trump's malice and negligence. It took Trump's words and actions affecting him personally. Now he knows what millions already know, so now he's angry. Supreme self-interest moved him, but noting else did? I'm so not surprised.

(5,914 posts)I saw the video from the House chamber, and it was fucking terrifying. Mike Pence escaped with his life.
I still can't believe that ANY of those GOP legislators could still support that infernal orange shitsmear after that. He sat back and watched on TV as they fled for their very lives, and there was no way that raving band of maniacs attacking them had the time or inclination to care who they were.
This is what Donald Trump has been all along, Mike. He is the literal God damned Antichrist. I am sorry that it took this long for you to have to start pondering this.

(35,817 posts)During any time in the last 4 years did he ever consider that Chump has no business being president? Or that Chump needs to be removed from office for the good of the country? Or that it was up to him (Pence) and only him to see that our country and our government needs to be rescued from this madman?
Pence is a coward of the worst sort, he's a complicit coward. So what if he's finally had enough - I don't care. The rest of us finally had "enough" long ago. He gets no admiration from me. None of those Repukes matter now, because none of them (except Mitt Romney) did anything when it really would have mattered.

(8,790 posts)It clearly a loathsome and vile place. This is they same guy who thinks he "can pray the gay away."
That he is complicit in all of Trumps evils and sins is not in doubt.
But last night he grimly did his job to ensure the transfer of power. He deserves a modicum of respect for doing that in that moment.
Everything else is fair game, he is a part of this criminal enterprise, but he also did he job to let the people throw his ass out.
This courage of his, this act last night can't even fill a thimble, but its more courage and integrity than Trump has in his whole body.
I wonder, some times, what regrets Pence, Lord of the Flies, has right now.
