(8,514 posts)It probably doesn't matter. I wonder what his point in saying anything is, one way or the other.

(97,047 posts)need to have a special prosecutor for Hunter, and no need to seize voting machines
He is telling the DOJ to stop this circus
and I think it bodes well that Barrs stand in will follow suit

(3,691 posts)He should be investigated, and he most probably knows that.
I don't believe people who do wrong do so because they think that what they are doing is good, or right, that they truly believe in the cause. I believe these people know that what they are doing is wrong, criminals know that when they are killing they are doing wrong, but the criminal mind doesn't think of consequences, they just look at the end so everything in between is collateral damage, a means to an end, but they are fully aware that their actions are wrong, and Barr knows he can be disbarred for his illegal actions during his tenure as AG, so he is trying to ease the consequences.

(122,166 posts)He knew that Trump was going to sack him anyhow, and decided to get in a few punches of his own on the way out. I don't think he's suffering from an attack of conscience or ethics, but he wasn't going to leave without screwing Trump publicly.
Lock him up.

(21,387 posts)He just essentially called Trump a liar on a couple of important fronts. I have so little respect for Bill Barr, but at least he's doing the right thing at this WAY TOO LATE juncture.

(2,626 posts)He did the damage he was appointed to do. Now he's trying to redeem himself with the American people. Barr doing a press conference now is like trying to push back the water after the dam has been breached. Senate Republicans are responsible for Barr's appointment.

I hope Barr has a long retirement full of self reflection which will reveal to him how completely abhorrent his actions have been.

(1,248 posts)Part of me would like to think these guys are growing a conscience, but we should really consider that the handwriting is on the wall as to DT's post-prez legal troubles. By getting out now they can hide out just long enough for the smoke to clear, then resurface to write books, get cushy jobs on K Street or whatever, and have a nice life.
The right got what they wanted out of DT--especially when it comes to the SCOTUS. Sorry to be so cynical...

(3,691 posts)Barr and his brothers have a history of being bullies in high school, he has always been a bully and he must be so upset at trump for trying to bully him, even more knowing all he knows about trump...
So Barr is doing two things, he is trying to change public opinion about himself and getting back at the jackass who tried to bully him...
