Kamala Harris to make campaign stop in Texas

Source: Texas Tribune

BY ALEX SAMUELS AND PATRICK SVITEK OCT. 25, 2020

Kamala Harris, Joe Biden’s running mate and the California U.S. senator, will be visiting Texas on Friday, according to an email Biden’s campaign sent to Democratic lawmakers in Texas on Sunday.

Harris will be the highest-profile representative of the Biden campaign to visit Texas in person during the general election, though his campaign was already set to spend millions of dollars on TV ads in Texas.

“Allow me to provide as a courtesy, the below in person travel notification for Sen. Kamala Harris which will be publicly released momentarily,” the email reads. “Sen. Kamala Harris will be personally traveling to Texas on Friday - October 30. 2020.”

Her visit comes as polls project a tight presidential race in Texas. According to the latest University of Texas/Texas Tribune poll, Trump leads Biden in the state by 5 percentage points. Trump won Texas by 9 points in 2016.

Wanna talk blue walls?

This is our destiny. No longer hostage to white male Fox viewers. Not his time perhaps, but soon.

Sen Harris brings out a whole big block of voter enthusiasm that has been supressed in this State for years & years.

She is necessary here in Tx. & I have no doubt Joe has his reasons should he not make it to Tx.
We're good with a visit from Sen Harris.

What's most pitiful about 2020 is that Trump's lack of giving a shit with COVID, has prevented people from gathering in venues to applaud & listen in person to our stellar team of Democrats.

Hope they're not making HRC's mistake. Shouldn't she be going to places like AZ, WI, MN to make sure we don't lose those?

This late in the election, when so many people have already voted, they may not be able to screw anything up at this point. And there is a case to be made that goading Trump into making mistakes may be their best use of time.

I doubt Biden will visit. If he does, and Dems don't carry the state, it emboldens the opposition. And, demographically, and I don't like the way sounds but it's always an issue in politics, Sen. Harris will motivate more non-whites to vote than Biden could flip white undecideds, or at least that's how I see it.

Been seeing the changes happening against trump , and also against Cornyn. Did they say where she'd be in Texas yet? With some help From Gov. Abbott limiting drop off boxes, which angered many to vote against trump and republicans, it has backfired on them here. Trump stalling stimulus with Mitch has also angered voters here. This is more great news!

I hope a Harris visit reminds more people to get out and vote. The color blue looks really good on Texas on a US map!

Not just Texas and Arizona, but also the three Great Lakes stakes: Minnesota, Wisconsin, Michigan. All firmly in the electoral-vote "likely" category today. I figure Biden has Pennsylvania tied up, due to his connection there. And as of today, Florida is also in the Biden column.

Remember, Texas is a very big prize: 38 electoral votes. If it can be won, it should be pursued.

until you try. Trump went to blue states and turned them red. The day we turn Texas blue is the day the republican party ceases to be a national party.
