Judge Orders DOJ to Explain Its Secret Portions of the Mueller Report by Next Week

Source: Law & Crime

A federal judge on Monday granted a Justice Department request to delay providing answers to questions about former Special Counsel Robert Mueller’s full, unredacted Russia report.

The judge, Reggie B. Walton, previously read the entire Mueller report and ordered the DOJ to answer a spreadsheet full of questions about the report’s publicly hidden contents. Responses are now due next Tuesday, July 21, one week after the previous deadline.

The responses, if adequate, may render a scheduled hearing unnecessary in cases filed by the Electronic Privacy Information Center (EPIC) and Buzzfeed News, which seek to obtain the unredacted report in its entirety.

In a motion, the DOJ said that it sought additional time because answering the judge’s questions required “consultations with numerous Department components, including the Office of Information Privacy, the National Security Division, the Federal Bureau of Investigation, and U.S. Attorney’s Offices.”

1. Trying to bury the truth still...got caught trying to classify crap that should have come out in

the fully released Mueller report and instead they (barr and rump) buried their failures and complicity in committing crimes by redacting significant portions of the Mueller report. If crimes were committed by barr and or others in hiding this publicly paid for report (the taxpayers) they should be charged and tried.

6. I'm sure the Supreme Court

will have a decision on this in June of 2023.

8. Yes, that's what he's after, and he's putting them on record

Judges know how to get at the truth of things.

2. The DOJ will drag this out as long as possible.

At least until after the election. When Trump loses, he will most likely order that all government files be erased in a fit of vindictiveness. I sure hope there are career employees throughout federal agencies making backup copies of critical files before then. First to be erased will be any records of the Mueller Report and the grand jury testimony.

13. He might order it but I do not believe it will be done because the people that erase it can

then be held criminally liable as it is against the law to do so I believe.

3. If they can drag it out just a few more weeks, when the presidential campaign is in full swing,

the judge can then grant another extension, using the old "we don't want to do anything that might affect the outcome of the election" excuse. Of course, that bullshit only applies to Republicans.

5. Or could tell them it's their own fault as they

we’re the ones to ask for the extension. The old, Lack of planning on your part does not constitute an emergency on mine.

4. Trump's entire strategy is whack-a-mole.

He keeps hopping from one crime to another desperate to not get caught. Worked for him so far. But not forever.

14. Best we can hope for is that Biden does not make the same mistake Obama did and let

what a past President has done get swept under the rug and not be held accountable because even the President should be held accountable or the rule of law is worthless.

he's interested in the reasons for hiding what was hidden, iow, if they were hidden according to natsec guidelines or if they were hidden for political reasons.

10. Actually this sounds like good news to me,

the judge read the Mueller report, BuzzFeed did not. Barr can't bs the judge, hopefully we all can get so the unredacted Mueller report before November.

15. In a normal democratic republic that functions for the public good that taxpayers pay for, yes

but when it's all for the King his personal attorney can do the editing just like Karl Rove claimed he could "do the math"

Sometimes history seems like a remake of Henry VIII and his maneuvers against the Pope and the Archbishop. It's all about the use of power.

17. Can Barr be held in contempt of court if he misses the extended deadline?

Could he or the DOJ at least be ordered to pay a daily fine?

I hope a real AG will investigate and prosecute vigorously.

He's going to need a lot of ExLax- he's got to pull a lot out of his backside...
