With 2,581 new coronavirus cases, Florida hits a record high for the third day in a row

Source: Miami Herald

Florida’s Department of Health on Saturday morning reported a new daily record high of 2,581 new confirmed cases of COVID-19 — surpassing the previous high by 679. The previous high was hit on Friday. And the high before that was hit on Thursday.

That puts the state’s total number of confirmed cases at 73,552 since the pandemic began in March.

Forty-eight new deaths were also announced, raising the statewide death toll to 2,925.

The state slowly began to reopen in May. Now in June, most businesses across the state are open at limited capacity with social-distancing regulations in place to reduce the risk of COVID-19 transmission.

A Miami Herald analysis of public and non-public COVID-19 data found that as of June 3, new cases in the state had consistently been trending up since mid-May and the trends could not be attributed solely to increases in testing.

Over the last three days, that's 6181 cases and 124 deaths officially announced for FL.

And who knows how many other deaths listed CV as a contributing factor.

Saw this about my county.

No surprise whatsoever after what I witnessed Memorial Day weekend.

and the tournament they hosted.

And now we're hosting the AAU junior Olympics. Our county "leaders" are extending a fucking open invitation to COVID-19. They're itching for us to be a hot spot epicenter for a pandemic. Lord help us all.

I've been asking this question for many years now, ever since I was dx'd with MS.

I have found no "help" because there is no "help".

COVID-19 has just reinforced something I already knew.

I am tired of this life.

I am disgusted by the actions I see around me which will only lead to more death.

I don't get why people are so selfish that they seem to think they are exempt.

You are quite right, "Where is the humanity?".

California has opened up gyms and bars as of Friday.

Since June 1, the numbers in San Diego County have started to go up.
What took us 3 weeks to reduce numbers has been wipe out since June 1 and it only took 7 days to do it.

In Chula Vista where I live, our 7 day average on May 10 was 25 new cases per day, the highest 7 day average.
On May 11 it dropped to 22 new cases per day.
On June 1 (3 weeks later) it dropped to its lowest at 16 new cases per day, since the peak of 25 on May 11.
By June 8, new cases per day had increased back to 22.

Why didn't we open up on May 11 when the 7 day average was 22 and decreasing,
instead of now when our 7 day average is 22 and increasing?

Really does not make any sense.

They do not know they are up against.

It is a "novel" corona virus, they have a name for it. That's about the end of it.

As this thing spreads and kills like wildfire, I'll admit I do not know if I will survive it.

I believe this is the great fear behind it if it is believed to be real.

Will I live or will I die?

Will I be next?

Where I am located there have only been a few cases but the community is being very careful SO FAR.

However, as time passes and we see things opening up, the deaths are skyrocketing.

Those that believe the reality of this are afraid! I know I am and no, I'm going out as little as possible!

Texas passed Michigan last week and now has an 18,000 case lead. Texas passed Pennsylvania by 6,000 cases to take a firm hold of sixth place. In a week to 10 days, Texas may pass Massachusetts for fifth place. It may take 3 or 4 weeks for them to catch Illinois. By the end of July, they may challenge California for third.

Washington, where the whole race started, has sunk to 22nd place. (They obviously aren't trying hard enough to spread the disease. If they want to have any chance of competing, they need to get those beaches open, and maybe host a Trump rally or two.)

They'll be losing over ONE MILLION people a year or more at this rate in Florida alone. Is this acceptable to you? Is it?

Does COVID-19 suck enough yet or is it just getting rid of a bunch of old sick people that no one gives a damn about?

If this is where we are at as a country, I don't care to live here any longer.

I will leave as soon as I can possibly pull it off, believe me. Why would anyone care to live in a country where they deem it to be a good "trade off" to be rid of a million elderly people v. a million younger people being they aren't worth a damn anyway?

Don't all lives in all colors matter?

Do disabled lives matter?

Does your elderly parent, etc. matter?

I just don't get why we have to decide WHO matters and WHO does not matter.
