Taylor Swift Accuses Trump of 'Stoking Fires of Racism,' Vows 'We Will Vote You Out'

Source: Variety

Taylor Swift has taken the gloves off when it comes to President Trump. The pop superstar quoted his risible “When the looting starts, the shooting starts” tweet, which threatened protesters in Minneapolis with gunfire — and received a warning label from Twitter that it promoted violence — before making a vow to help turn out the vote against him this fall.

Wrote Swift: “After stoking the fires of white supremacy and racism your entire presidency, you have the nerve to feign moral superiority before threatening violence? ‘When the looting starts the shooting starts’??? We will vote you out in November.” She tagged Trump’s @realdonaldtrump account.

These are the strongest words yet from Swift about Trump, who previously couched her feelings about his administration in more measured terms, taking issue with the president and his administration primarily on issues involved LGBTQ rights.

Within an hour and 15 minutes of being posted, Swift’s message had already been retweeted more than 100,000 times, gotten 375,000 likes, and received 20,000 replies. Not all of those responses were appreciative, of course.

4. She got her start in the country community, then turned her back and walked towards progress.

The deplorables who spent so much $$$$$$$ for their kids on her are fuming right now.

11. Have to say the tables have switched for me on Kanye and Swift

Kanye famously crashed Taylor Swift's 2009 first VMA award acceptance to declare Beyonce deserved it more.

At the time, I thought it was rude, but I was still admiring him for having the chutspa to declare "George Bush doesn't care about black people" 4 years earlier at a celebrity fund raiser, based on Dubya's Katrina Hurricane response. Combined with my utter lack of interest in Taylor Swift or her commercial pop music. Especially that she was originally from a country music background, the preferred music for Southern Republicans. And you never heard her give any political opinion

But how the tables have flipped.

Now Taylor is speaking up against the Trumpublicans
And it's Kanye who is embarassing himself in a MAGA cap

Meanwhile Swift has woken up, not afraid of public backlash by speaking out, and I've admired her since her public support for March for Our Lives in support of the Parkland Students killed.
