An Amazon worker who led a walkout at a New York City facility on Monday has been fired.

Chris Smalls, an assistant manager and organizer, learned of his termination as dozens of workers protested against the company's response to the coronavirus outbreak.

"It's a shame on them," Smalls told Vice News on Tuesday. "To fire someone after five years for sticking up for people and trying to give them a voice."

Strikers at the JFK8 warehouse in Staten Island demanded Amazon temporarily shut down the large facility for cleaning, after reports of multiple employees testing positive for Covid-19

Not the smartest move in my opinion. This will generate a whole lot of awful publicity for that corporation. But obviously that corporation does not care. Why should it?

Wait a minute? , think?
...........People could buy stuff at other places?.. Is that true Maybe that is an idea?

5. I know it's hard, but don't give Amazon your business.

Jeff Bezo's is a greedy POS who treats his workers like serfs. He also won't pay his fair share of taxes here in Seattle and he and his greedy corporation are largely responsible for our housing crisis.

8. buy straight from the vendor whenever possible

Let them get all your purchase $$ without the Amazon cut

Though I have found businesses which ONLY sell via Amazon

9. This is true.

Thankfully most vendors have their own site. I paid just a couple dollars more to order an item on eBay. I don't have Prime so I think I actually may have saved money, and wouldn't you know, they drop shipped via Amazon. UGH! A lot of eBay sellers are doing this now. They post an item on eBay, then order it from Amazon to ship to your address and pocket the few dollars profit.

10. I haven't used Amazon for ages...for just this reason

They treat workers horribly...and Jeff Bezos has too much money. Scratch Whole Foods too...
