Trump to headline $580,600-per-couple fundraiser, the most expensive of his reelection bid

Source: Seattle Times

President Donald Trump will be the guest of honor at a Saturday fundraiser at the palatial Palm Beach estate of billionaire Nelson Peltz. Trumpís fellow guests: donors who gave $580,600 per couple to support the presidentís reelection, making it the most expensive such fundraising event since Trump took office.

The dinner, taking place a few miles from Trumpís Mar-a-Lago Club, shows how enthusiastically the president has embraced big-dollar fundraising in his bid for a second term ó a dramatic about-face from 2016, when he criticized the influence of wealthy donors on the politicians who court them.

It also shows the special access enjoyed by many of Trumpís wealthiest donors, including business executives and lobbyists, who get the chance to air their grievances with the presidentís tariffs or promote their pet projects, often while dining on Trumpís favorite foods.

ďPresident Trump is the most accessible president in history, both with the press and with supporters,Ē said Mike Reed, a spokesman for the RNC. ďThese roundtables, which previous presidents attended as well, are an opportunity for our supporters to get an update on the campaign and his record as president, all things the president discusses publicly all the time.Ē

most (fill in the blank) in the HISTORY of the country and world. Don't know how any of the repubs can say that with a straight face.

9. that hacker might be surprised

to find there is no money in the account because Ivanka had already transferred it to a personal account of Trumps......Seriously, I wouldn't doubt anything done by him or his spawn at this point........

17. Yes, we need a list.

The list needs to be made public.

I live in San Antonio and Joaquin Castro is my representative. He published a list of companies that had supported Trump and at the time, I happened to work for one. The only real kickback was from the LGBTQ community, but there WAS kickback. This happened to be a real estate company, and several clients who were LGBTQ - or agents who were - cancelled contracts, etc.

The owner of the company was, of course, scandalized that her support of Trump was made public, but hey, if you're going to support a candidate, shouldn't you be PROUD of supporting that candidate?

24. the guy is firkin president, on our dime

Why should a list of donors be kept secret?

We should be allowed to know who is supporting our president at this level.

10. We need a list of who these fucksticks are

and the businesses they run, or have investments in.

And I don't want one damn DUer telling me that boycotts will hurt the people who work at those businesses.

It's way past time we asked; "what price freedom"?

12. He says he is going to have a billion to run on. He'll spend a lot less, lose and keep the rest.

He sees the writing on the wall and is lining up all the $$ he can. Which also why he is defrauding the tax payers to the max with his stays at his own properties.

27. What a bunch of BS, the most accessible president in history, with the press and supporters?

I threw up when I read this. What rump is, is clearly for sale to the highest bidder, period.

He doesn't give a wit's end about anybody but himself.

One point, if he's such a billionaire, then why is he fundraising so much? I thought he had money out the wazoo?
