Trump Hopes 'Warm Weather' Will Weaken Coronavirus After Talking to Chinese President Xi

Source: Mediaite

President Donald Trump spoke with Chinese President Xi Jinping early Friday morning, who he mightily praised afterward to his millions of Twitter followers. Trump and Xi have been engaging in trade talks for years now, and Trump has consistently flattered the Chinese leader and this was no different. But his comment about how the coronavirus may grow or abate due to weather patterns may raise some eyebrows.

Trump lauded Xi by describing him as “strong, sharp and powerfully focused on leading the counterattack on the Coronavirus.”

But in the second part of the two-tweet thread, Trump suggested that Xi will be successful in fighting the virus that is now being called a pandemic, because it will get weaker as the weather starts to warm:

Alois Brunner: One Of The Most Notorious Nazi Officers – He Died Unpunished

One of (Bornmann's) most loyal associates whose dreadful fanaticism was beyond belief was Alois Brunner. The Austrian-born Nazi Party member was responsible for the internment, deportation, and execution of Jews all over Europe.

Brunner became a member of the Austrian Nazi Party early; in 1931. In 1938 he joined the SS and was assigned to the staff of the Central Office for Jewish Emigration in Austria. Rising quickly through the ranks due to his cold-blooded stand towards the Jewish community, he was made the director of the Jewish Emigration Office the following year.

During 1939, as the war broke out, he worked closely with Eichmann on the Lublin und Nisko Plan. They intended to form a reservation for Jews in Eastern Europe in an area between those two cities. Belzec, Majdanek, and Sobibor death camps were established there.

The German Order Police “Orpo” descending to the cellars on a “Jew-hunt,” Lublin, December 1940;

Alois Brunner reached infamy in 1942 when he organized large-scale deportations from Austria and Greece. He was responsible for the removal of 46,000 Jews from Vienna and 43,000 more from Salonika. ...

In 1944, Brunner was asked by Eichmann to supervise the deportation of 13,500 Jews from Slovakia to Theresienstadt, Sachsenhausen, Bergen-Belsen, and Stutthof. Almost none of those deported survived. The children from the Slovakian group were segregated from the grown ups and sent to Auschwitz where they perished. There are no known accounts of any of them surviving.

Going back to SARS, the Chinese government has spread the weather story as the explanation. In fact it was a massive quarantine program that helped in SARS they just don’t want to talk about it.

As per our Niece's Son on the ground in Vietnam,he said the Chinese Government is rounding up people to the tune of more than 25 million plus and put them in some type of Isolation Camps.

Really, he needs to visit them and shake hands with them. It will show how powerful and caring he is.

I bet if there was a porn queen quarantined with them he would visit. Maybe he should take his Slovenian sex worker with him. She could awkwardly reassure the women and children with her bad English and give out medals of freedom.

Flu Virus Fortified In Colder Weather

Fwiw, from this 2008 nih.gov story:

...The researchers discovered that at temperatures slightly above freezing and below, the virus's lipid covering solidified into a gel. At about 70 degrees Fahrenheit, much of the lipid was still in gel form. At warmer temperatures, however, the gel melts to a liquid phase. At temperatures of about 105 degrees and higher, the coat was all in liquid form.

The virus's rubbery outer coat, the researchers believe, allows it to withstand cooler temperatures and travel from person to person. In the respiratory tract, the body's warmth causes the covering to melt so that the virus can infect the cells of its new host.

...The liquid phase, presumably, isn't tough enough to protect the virus against the elements, and so the virus loses its ability to spread from person to person in warm air. As the weather warms in spring, the flu viruses dry out and weaken, and the flu season wanes.

So is Trump saying this one will die in summer ( "gone" )? But flu strains vie to predominate... so yet another unweakened coronavirus strain could arise next year? How does that work, DU virologists?

Yes it's outlandish to turn a blind eye to what will happen until the coronavirus is brought under control. And no-one can be sure how this outbreak will respond to warming temperatures. But, contrary to the assumptions underlying a number of posts on this thread, there is scientific support for the notion that some viral outbreaks weaken with warmer weather.

Slacked off until it came roaring back by October
And continued to ravage until sputtering out in 1920.
Make no bets on the behaviour of a virus.
