GOP Senate Committee Condemns Doug Collins's 'Stunning' Plan to Run for Senate as Selfish

Rep. Doug Collins confirmed plans that he intends to run for U.S. Senate during a Fox & Friends appearance Wednesday morning. “We’re in for the Georgia Senate race. I’ve still got a lot of work left to do to help this president,” the fiercely loyal Trump defender said. “We’re getting ready for a good time down here to keep defending this president and working for the people of Georgia.”

Not all Republicans are thrilled, however, with Collins announcement. Shortly after his announcement, the National Republican Senate Committee published a statement that derided Collins’s bid as selfish and shortsighted.

National Republican Senatorial Committee’s Executive Director Kevin McLaughlin released the following statement in support of Senator Kelly Loeffler (R-GA):

“The shortsightedness in this decision is stunning. Doug Collins’ selfishness will hurt David Perdue, Kelly Loeffler, and President Trump. Not to mention the people of Georgia who stand to bear the burden of it for years to come. All he has done is put two senate seats, multiple house seats, and Georgia’s 16 electoral votes in play. The NRSC stands firmly behind Sen. Kelly Loeffler and urges anyone who wants to re-elect President Trump, hold the GOP senate majority, and stop socialism to do the same.”

8. the loons here love him,

I live in Ga and folks really like him (Collins). and by folks i mean the rabid racist who like Mr. Trump. People wanted Governor Kemp to appoint him to Johnny Isakson's seat.

There is some interesting inside base ball going on regarding the Senate race in November. Much stems from how close the governor's race was recently. Stacey Abrams just about cleaned house against Kemp, but luckily he was the Secretary of State and was able to rig the election via voter suppression.

one can't rule out right vote total tampering either given: 1) we don't have a paper audit trail; 2) the electronic voting machines where compromised during the 2016 election.

so the state GOP thought putting Loeffler in would win back the white suburban females that are leaving the party in mass thanks to Mr Trumps nasty record of "grabbing them by the" and Kemps shady ties to scummy folks. [1]

our state NPR platform Georgia Public Broadcasting (GPB) has a daily politics show called Political Rewind and from time to time they let Mr. Collins spread his propaganda unchecked. so voters in the state are very familiar with him.

5. Bwahahahahahahahaha

This will still be tough for us though, since it will probably go to runoff.

Maybe Dems should fund a third party challenger that accuses both Collins and Loeffler of not being sufficiently Pro-Trump.
