2 Columbus officers fired, 2 supervisors suspended over Stormy Daniels case

Source: Columbus Dispatch

Two Columbus police officers have been fired and two police supervisors disciplined in connection with their handling of the July 2018 arrest of adult film performer Stormy Daniels at a local strip club.

Columbus Public Safety Director Ned Pettus signed orders Thursday to fire former vice unit Officers Steven Rosser, 43, a 19-year veteran, and Whitney Lancaster, 57, a member of the division for 32 years.

In addition, Lt. Ronald Kimmerling, 51, a 24-year veteran, was suspended for six weeks, and Sgt. Scott Soha, 43, who has been with the division for 17 years, received a three-week suspension, according to findings signed by Pettus. The suspensions were over their lack of supervision of the vice operation involving Daniels.

The case is far from over, though. All four officers say they intend to appeal their discipline to an arbitrator, said Keith Ferrell, president of Fraternal Order of Police Capital City Lodge No. 9.

3. Columbus P.D. is the home of some really right wing nut jobs.

BTW the city prosecutor or county D.A. dropped all charges with in minutes of getting to
work the following morning.

What were all those cops doing in a strip club @ 1:00 AM?

Stormy came back to 3 sold out shows.

6. Did she sue the city/PD and if so, what's the status of that lawsuit?

It seems like they violated her civil rights in a blatant and premeditated manner, and she would have a pretty straightforward case.

10. They were so comfortable in their

Trumpism they were willing to flush their decades long careers down the toilet. Someone should really look into what else they might have gotten up to in those decades as members of the PD.

11. I was married to a cop once.

Most of them don't think the law applies to them, kind of like tRump.
There are some honest cops. I'd say about 10 or 15% of the department.
